“We decry hostility and discrimination towards immigrants as antithetical to the traditions and interests of the country. At the same time, we disagree with those who would label efforts to control immigration as being inherently anti-immigrant. Rather, it is both a right and a responsibility of a democratic society to manage immigration so that it serves the national interest.” ~ Rep. Barbara Jordan – Chair, U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform

Biden’s CBP One ‘Legal’ Entry Scheme: Both Illegal and National Security Danger

(July 4, 2023) – Border security is national security – not just at the long stretches between ports of entry, but at the legal crossing points as well.

Andrew Arthur, a Center for Immigration Studies fellow with long experience at the intersection of immigration law and national security, has written a piece on the security implications of the Biden administration’s CBP One entry scheme for inadmissible aliens. Continue reading

Biden Celebrates 11 Years of DACA Program: Illegal Aliens ‘Are Americans’
Biden is celebrating the 11th anniversary of former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.

In a statement on Thursday, Biden commemorated the program by saying that the millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for DACA “are Americans” despite their not having United States citizenship and flouting federal immigration law.

An illegal alien was reportedly shielded from deportation by former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program before he allegedly killed three retired officers this month… (Continue to full article)

Which “Refugees” Are We Welcoming?
The Welcome Corps, a new program introduced by the Biden administration in January 2023, hands over the control of part of the resettlement process to refugee advocates in the United States (whether private individuals or organizations) and allows them to select their own refugees and future American citizens.

Per U.S. immigration law, resettled refugees are required to apply for a green card one year after arrival and can apply for citizenship four years later (not five, as the five-year count for refugees starts on the day of arrival)…. (Continue to full article)

Biden hides the truth at the border — he’s letting in thousands
Illegal border crossings are down from the eye-watering levels during the rush before the end of Title 42.

Some House Democrats visited the border last week and called it “much improved.”

President Biden responded to a reporter’s question about the border a couple weeks ago saying it was “much better than you all expected.”

So the border crisis is over, right?… (Continue to full article)

AMLO and Biden: Agents of Immigration Chaos
As Biden’s initiative played out over months, President Lopez Obrador, for once, issued no protest, apparently as oblivious as his American counterpart to the looming unintended consequences.

Blinded by his own open-border ideology, the stubborn AMLO seems never to have analyzed the impact of Washington’s unilateral migrant policies on Mexico’s national sovereignty. Much more subtle than previous Yanqui strong-arm tactics, President Biden was nevertheless blithely unleashing powerful outside forces that would trample Mexico…. (Continue to full article)

The Other Half of Our Immigration Crisis
Visa abuse, which begins as legal entry, doesn’t get nearly as much attention as illegal border crossings

Foreigners can arrive here on tourist visas and then legally adjust their visa status if they marry an American. It’s also legal for foreign “tourists” to come here and interview for jobs. If they find one, their employer can file an adjustment-of-visa-status request for them.

The bottom line is that the U.S. is likely the only Western country where one can arrive as a tourist and never go home—all legally… (Continue to full article)

Something’s Screwy with Immigration Court Border Cases
The immigration courts are a component of the Department of Justice (DOJ), and a review of DOJ statistics on decision filing rates in border asylum cases reveals that something screwy is going on — asylum grants are down, but so are asylum denials, while the percentage of “other” determinations are way up. What gives?

“Asylum Decision and Filing Rates in Cases Originating with a Credible Fear Claim”. The statistics, issued by DOJ’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) — the agency that oversees the immigration courts and the appellate Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) — are formally captioned “Asylum Decision and Filing Rates in Cases Originating with a Credible Fear Claim” (see a screenshot from the pdf file at the end of this post, from item 10 here). The title requires some brief explanation

Both Border Patrol apprehensions of illegal entrants and aliens deemed inadmissible by CBP officers at the ports of entry are referred to as “encounters”, and when CBP encounters either an illegal entrant or an alien who has presented fraudulent admission documents or no admission documents at all, it has a choice… (Continue to full article)

Suspected Migrant Smuggler Leads Texas Cops on 115 MPH Pursuit Near Border

A suspected migrant smuggler led Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed pursuit that began on June 13 in the small community of Brackettville, Texas. When troopers attempted to stop the suspicious vehicle within the incorporated area of the city, the driver allegedly chose to flee. The vehicle left the city limits on a rural farm-to-market road and reportedly reached speeds in excess of 115 miles per hour. Continue reading

The intent of the Biden Administration is to allow as many foreign nationals into the United States as possible, regardless of the law or consequences for the American people.

The Biden Administration is abusing the asylum system in order to circumvent legal limits on immigration. They certainly aren’t doing this for humanitarian purposes, which has become transparent as the corporate media and mass immigration apologists (including those who favor mass illegal immigration) are no longer trying to deny that the “asylum seekers” pouring into the United States aren’t overwhelmingly economic migrants. Does America really need MORE foreign workers?

H-2 visa programs are rife with fraud and abuse

When even migrants’ rights groups are pointing out the horrible abuses of the H-2 visa programs, it seems insane to expand them. Does Congress even care about the abuses? Do your elected officials?

H-2 visas allow foreign workers to come to compete with Americans for American jobs. Supposedly, these are temporary jobs Americans won’t do. But Southern Migrant Legal Services and the Mississippi Center for Justice contacted the U.S. Department of Labor to investigate corporate-owned farms for importing workers as if they were commodities instead of hiring American workers. Turns out that, for decent wages, there were plenty of people seeking those jobs.

Border Hospitals Packed with Pregnant Migrants, Forcing American Women to Delay Deliveries

An estimated 6000 migrants, the majority Haitians, continue to overwhelm the northern Mexican city of Reynosa, a town bordering McAllen, Texas while waiting for an opportunity to cross into the United States. (Photo by Michael Nigro/Getty Images)

Hospitals along the United States-Mexico border are so packed with pregnant migrant women that American women are being forced to delay their scheduled deliveries, Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says.

Kennedy recently visited the southern border to bring awareness to the issue of illegal immigration, which has skyrocketed under President Joe Biden. Continue reading

Record-Breaking Border Crossings Include Terrorist Suspects

The number of terrorist suspects apprehended at the southern border is soaring while the number who are getting away remains a dangerous mystery.

Citing risks to national security and public safety, House Republicans have launched a probe over the rising number of terrorism suspects who have been caught attempting to sneaking across the southern border. In the previous seven months, 96 people on the terrorism watchlist have been apprehended at the border so Republican lawmakers are demanding answers from the Department of Homeland Security. GOP Must Call Out Illegal Immigration as ‘Economic Warfare’ Against Working Americans

Republicans must be “hammering” away at illegal immigration as “economic warfare” against working – and middle-class Americans, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) told Breitbart News.

In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News, Vance called on Republicans to discuss illegal immigration as a fixture of “the cheap labor lobby” which seeks to inflate the United States labor market to drive down wages and employ an underclass of cheaper foreign workers with little-to-no bargaining power. No Border Security Bill Until Citizens Accept More Poor Migrants

Democrats will block a border security bill until American citizens accept more poor migrants into their workplaces and neighborhoods, Texas Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee told a GOP-led hearing on Tuesday.

“You’re not going to get border security coming first,” Lee told a GOP-picked witness, Rodney Scott, the former chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, who urged legislators to first protect the border before opening up more legal routes for migrants.

She continued:

You need to be able to balance it. You will not accept a border security and recognizing pathways to legal entry [bill]? … When the late [Sen. ] John McCain, we had a very strong comprehensive bill — and it had border security and the legal pathway.

Lee’s frank statement exposed the core politics of migration: Democrats — and their bipartisan business and media allies — will block any border security bill unless the GOP votes to let them legally import more poor migrant workers, consumers, renters, and poor people who will turn to government agencies for help. 200k+ border encounters – Is it the new norm?

DHS released its monthly border encounters report for April this week, the last full month before the termination of Title 42 on May 11. Encounters of illegal aliens along the border and at ports of entry were back above 200,000 for the first time since December.

While border encounters have dipped slightly over the first few months of 2023, encounters exceeding 200,000 have become commonplace under the Biden Administration. April was the 13th month since Pres. Biden’s inauguration that total encounters exceeded 200,000. Continue reading

Southwest Border Apprehensions, Encounters Surge in April

Policies have consequences

CBP has released its statistics on Border Patrol apprehensions and CBP overall encounters at the Southwest border for the month of April and, not surprisingly, both surged last month even while Title 42 expulsions dropped. That does not bode well for the administration with Title 42 having some ended on May 11 just as “travel season” at the U.S.-Mexico line gears up. Expect some drop-off in apprehensions when the May numbers come out next month as illegal migrants — and more importantly their smugglers — are still trying to figure out all the loopholes in Biden’s latest border regime. Danger Within: The Government Is Turning America Into a Constitution-Free Zone

“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” ~ James Madison

How far would you really go to secure the nation’s borders in the so-called name of national security?

Would you give the government limitless amounts of money? Surround the entire country with concrete walls and barbed wire? Erect a high-tech, virtual wall of AI-powered surveillance cameras and drones that does a better job of imprisoning those within its boundaries than keeping intruders out? Empower border police to trample on the rights of anyone who crosses their path, including legal citizens? Continue reading

An Overwhelmed Border Patrol Is Missing an Epidemic of Runners and ‘Got-aways

Border Patrol agents, equipped with sophisticated technology, attempt to apprehend migrants illegally crossing into the United States. But securing the border has become more difficult as agents are taken off the line to process unprecedented numbers of illegal migrants turning themselves in, instead of preventing smuggling, drug and human trafficking, and identifying national security threats. The end of Title 42 will push the numbers of migrants and got-aways even higher. Continue reading

‘Chaos’ predicted for Texas border city of El Paso

A “catastrophe of epic proportions” is expected to begin along the U.S.-Mexico border on Friday as Title 42 expires at midnight tonight.

Title 42 is the Trump-era public health policy that allows Border Patrol agents to turn illegal immigrants back to Mexico over public health concerns. But thousands of migrants – even more than usual – are expected to enter the country as the policy expires at midnight tonight.

According to a recent Fox News report, the Border Patrol has been authorized to release migrants to the streets if non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can no longer hold them safely. Coincidentally, many facilities are already over capacity… (Continue to full article)

Biden had two years to prepare for the end of Title 42, and he failed

Kyrsten Sinema tears into White House for having no plan for the ‘crisis’ facing Arizona and border towns when restrictions lift TONIGHT

Sinema tore into the Biden administration for failing to prepare for the end of Title 42 as she said she would press forward with getting colleagues on board with her own proposal to do exactly that.

The free-thinking former Democrat said the federal government had left the border state she represents, Arizona, ‘without adequate resources’ for the pandemic-era restriction’s end.

She said she was on the phone with local authorities ‘on an hourly basis’ trying to figure out how stretched state and local resources can step in to aid the inundation of migrants up to and after the conclusion of Title 42… (Continue to full article)

Cartels are making too much MONEY smuggling migrants to allow a surge after Title 42

Ex-border patrol chief says Mexican gangs will control crossings because chaos is bad for business.

Instead of a tidal wave of immigrants flooding the border, Chris Clem said cartels will control numbers to ensure they can keep the profits flowing in for weeks to come.

Title 42 is due to expire at midnight TONIGHT, relaxing public health restrictions designed to stop COVID-19 entering the country with migrants.

A surge in migrants crossing the border is already being reported in Yuma, Arizona, where Clem retired last year as the sector’s Chief Border Patrol Agent… (Continue to full article)

Benson: The Border Crisis Looms – What About Mexico’s Political Past?

The resolution that has kept our Southern border from being completely inundated with illegal aliens is about to expire. And the illegals will swarm across our border like a swarm of locusts and the Biden regime, for all its big talk about the border not being open, along with all the other lies they have told, will look the other way and do nothing about it, all the while continuing to tell us they have the situation under control. Anyone believing them has to believe in the tooth fairy as well. Continue reading

Biden ‘finalizes screeching migrant policy U-turn to fend off illegal aliens in Trump-style plans he decried in 2020’
Title 42 expires TOMORROW and thousands more stream over the southern border

Migrants walk through a barbed-wire barrier into the United States after crossing the Rio Grande from Matamoros, Mexico

Joe Biden has finalized Trump-style plans to stop illegal migrants flooding into the U.S less than 48 hours before Title 42 expires – and as thousands more are seen streaming across the border from Mexico.

The policy, as seen by CBS News, is almost identical to a law which had been introduced by the Trump administration – and which was decried by Biden at the time. It required migrants to request refugee status in another country, such as Mexico, during their journey to the southern border – before crossing into the United States.

Those who fail to follow the criteria are liable to be deported… (Continue to full article)

‘This entire operation is a sad joke!’ Border Patrol Union tears into DHS for TELLING migrants and smugglers where and when it’ll ‘conduct targeted enforcement’… two days before Title 42 expires
Late on Monday night the DHS announced that ICE would be conducting a targeted enforcement operation in El Paso, Texas. The operation coincides with surge of thousands of migrants crossing the southern border – but those who crossed illegally will now have time to get make a getaway.

‘Nothing like publicly announcing that dangerous people will be arrested, while warning them ahead of time exactly where to run and hide to avoid arrest. This entire operation is a sad joke – another pandering PR stunt. Serious law enforcement leaders don’t behave this way,’ the Border Patrol Union – NBPC tweeted on Monday night.

Strategically speaking, the announcing of such information makes little sense with those seeking to evade capture by the authorities now given advance warning. It comes just as Border Patrol revealed how its agents caught 26,000 migrants in just three days.. (Continue to full article)

26,382 migrant encounters and 7,399 gotaways in just three days
US-Mexico Border ALREADY sees surge in crossers – with up to 13,000 expected each day when Title 42 ends on Thursday

Border crossings are already spiking in the days leading up to the end of Title 42 with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehending more than 26,000 migrants in just 72 hours. The last three days saw an average of 8,794 migrant apprehensions per day, according to figures released by CBP Chief Raul Ortiz. This is a staggering unprecedented figure that is only expected to grow in coming days with Title 42 set to expire on Thursday

Currently, the average number of migrants crossing the southern border each day is 7,700. But the Biden administration estimates that the number could increase to 13,000 every day once Title 42 is no longer in use. Other external estimates have put that number even higher.

Title 42 is ending on Thursday – so what will the border look like in a post-pandemic world as internal estimates warn there are at least 10,000 migrants waiting to cross the second the measure expires
Title 42 is finally coming to an end on Thursday, May 11 and there are at least 10,000 migrants waiting in Mexico to immediately cross the U.S. southern border once the policy is no longer in use.

The public health measure was employed in March 2020 by then-President Donald Trump to quell migration during the COVID-19 pandemic by blocking those caught at those at the border from seeking asylum.

Migrants could be rapidly expelled back to Mexico, and since it began Title 42 has been used more than 2.7 million times. In March more than 191,00 migrants were encountered at the border, and many expect crossings to rise from 7,500 to 13,000 a day when Title 42 ends… (Continue to full article)

Drone video shows huge line of hundreds of migrants who illegally crossed the border into Brownsville, Texas, days before the end of Title 42
A huge line of consisting of hundreds of migrants who crossed into the U.S. illegally from Mexico into Brownsville, Texas was caught on camera on Sunday evening.

A line could best be seen from the air as footage from Fox News’ drone tea, attempted to capture the enormity of the as it snaked off into the distance.

The great majority of the migrants looked to be single adults. Many of those waiting in line did not appear to have baggage of any kind with most simply holding a plastic bag containing important documents.

Although it is not clear exactly where the migrants had arrived from, over the last two weeks there has been a surge of Venezuelan migrants through South Texas, particularly in and around Brownsville. The reasons for the surge are unclear.

On Friday U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas noted that Mexico has agreed week to continue taking back Venezuelans who enter the U.S. illegally even after asylum restrictions end Thursday, along with Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans… (Continue to full article)

ALERT: Biden vows to veto House GOP bill aimed at securing border
Biden would veto a House GOP bill that aims to secure our southern border by restricting asylum and finish building Trump’s border wall, the White House said Monday.

Republicans are looking to capitalize as immigration trouble surges into a national spotlight this week with the ending of COVID-19 restrictions that allowed border authorities to quickly return many migrants who crossed the border illegally.

GOP lawmkers aim to vote on their Secure the Border Act on Thursday — the same day the emergency expulsion powers expire. Officials have already seen an increase of illegals at the U.S.-Mexico border and are bracing for more.

The legislation represents the GOP’s first major immigration policy proposal since the Trump era, when those who wanted to abide by the nation’s immigration laws controlled the White House. The 213-page bill resurrects a slew of former President Donald Trump’s policies, such as building barriers along hundreds of miles of border country…. (Continue to full article)

House Leaders look to hold Border/E-Verify floor vote as Title 42 ends

The House of Representatives plans to vote on historic legislation that would end the ongoing border crisis and deter future border surges and illegal immigration in mid-May. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) made the announcement on Thursday and were confident they have the support for it to pass.

The final legislation would combine H.R. 2640, the Border Security and Enforcement Act, passed by the House Judiciary Committee last week and H.R. 2794, the Border Reinforcement Act, passed by the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday. Continue reading

The Border Security and Enforcement Act of 2023 (H.R. 2640) was passed by a near-party line vote of 23-15. The only dissenting Republican was Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who expressed opposition to the E-Verify provisions.

Biden’s Growing Border Crisis: Death, Drugs, and Disorder on the Northern Border

Washington, D.C. (March 28, 2023) – Lost amidst the chaos at the Southwest border is a burgeoning surge of migrants at the Northern border—the international boundary between the United States and Canada. While the number of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Northern border encounters is low compared to the Southwest border, what is happening at the Northern border is still troubling — particularly in the Border Patrol’s Swanton (Vt.) Sector. Continue reading
