Eradicating poverty is the most popular excuse for the expansion of government power. It’s a crisis! Someone must do something! How can a civilized people allow their fellow humans to go hungry?
The statistics on global poverty are staggering. According to the United Nations Millennium Project, there are currently 1.2 billion people living in poverty. Fifty thousand deaths per day occur worldwide as a result of poverty. Every year more than ten million children die of hunger and preventable diseases. Four years ago, as the school year started with remote learning in many districts around the country, particularly in Democratic-leaning cities, I reported a piece for ProPublica and this magazine looking at what Zoom school was really like for disadvantaged students. The piece focussed on Shemar, a seventh grader in Baltimore who had grown deeply isolated since schools had closed the previous March, and who only occasionally logged on to his online classes. “That homeschooling is not going to get it,” his grandmother said.
Shemar would not return to in-person schooling until the following year, the end of an almost-eighteen-month hiatus. His struggles to engage since then have been unsurprising, and have been shared by countless other students. Immigrants Becoming Citizens at Breakneck Speed as Election Approaches
3.3 million immigrants have become US citizens since Biden took office. The federal government is processing U.S. citizenship applications at its fastest pace in decades, with thousands of immigrants becoming newly minted citizens every week, possibly helping sway the result of November’s election.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USIS) is taking an average of 4.9 months to process naturalization applications in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, a pace not seen since 2013 and 2014, according to a report from the New York Times.

Illegal Immigrants Arrested on Military Base for Trespassing Walk Free After Posting Five-Figure Bail
Two Jordanian nationals in the country illegally and who were arrested for trespassing on a Marine Corps base in Virginia have been released from federal custody after posting bond, federal officials confirmed to Fox News Digital.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official confirmed to Fox News Digital that Hasan Yousef Hamdan and Mohammad Khair Dabous were allowed to bond out by an immigration judge in June. Nearly 100 illegal immigrants on the terror watch list have been released into the United States during the Biden administration, while Border Patrol agents have encountered migrants on the watch list from dozens of different countries, a new House report is revealing.
“Under the Biden-Harris Administration, of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, DHS has released into American communities at least 99, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States,” the report by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, a copy of which was first obtained by Fox News Digital, says.

Illegal immigration in Texas has Dropped Almost 90% since December
The number of illegal crossings into the United States through the Texas-Mexico border is down 87%, according to a local official.
Mike Banks, Special Advisor on Border Matters under Gov. Greg Abbott said that, as the number of encounters has slowed down, the federal government has opted to temporarily move agents out of Texas to other ports of entry in Arizona, California and New Mexico.

* Can a man whom abandoned his family ever be trustworthy enough to hold TSC clearance and build nuclear submarines?
* Is it remotely possible to train anyone to a high-enough skill level for this job in sixteen weeks? I completed a BSc in Industrial Engineering. I promise you, it’s impossible. Worse, many of their candidates don’t even hold HS degrees. So, their building nuclear submarines and never completed HS Algebra? You cannot learn machining, welding, metrology, plant layout, etc. and go build anything of quality in sixteen weeks. Even more so if you don’t speak English with no foundational education.
* They need 100K skilled non-American workers over the next ten years. What the hell kind of a war are they expecting, I mean, creating?
* Notice our malevolent benefactors have plenty of cash to invest into their goddamned war plans, but only scraps for the rest of us.
* What the hell kind of a reality are we living in?
I hope to hell the aspiring Sailors are informed about the junk-heaps they’ll be serving inside before they sign the dotted line. Seems like the Navy tried this before and it resulted in the loss of a Sub or two.
