In Florida, a high school student beat a paraprofessional unconscious. A 15-year-old in Georgia left her teacher with difficulty walking. And a group of students in Texas sent their assistant principal to the hospital after an assault.

This week, a supervisor in the U.S. Border Patrol cut boundary wires that hold the line on illegal migrations from Mexico. His actions opened a floodgate to thousands of daily illegal border crossings. The Texas National Guard immediately directed its own agents to fix the wire in an effort to stop the flood.
It took the Roman Empire 400 years to fall into chaos. They allowed the Visigoths, Franks, Vandals, Celts and many other tribes to penetrate their villages, their army’s ranks, and Rome itself. A slow self-destruction ensued until Rome burned as Nero fiddled. The Roman Empire expired in 476 A.D. 
Each morning I do a quick scan of the headlines coming over the wire services, clear my emails and Facebook entries, and then take a closer look at The New York Times online, paying particular attention to the opinion pages. I usually am not disappointed in my belief that the President Joe Biden Administration as well as ex-President Donald Trump, have been and continue to be collectively destroying what was once an admirable nation, something like flushing us repeatedly down the toilets of their ambition and greed. 
I’ve been distracted for the past few weeks dealing with personal issues; however, I’ve maintained my routine of morning coffee and the usual unhealthy dose of corporate media’s prevarications (bullshit). I’ve discovered that some of my issues stem from the dissonance between what I’m expected to believe and what I experience.

A lot of the talking heads on television seem to think that the threat of a recession has passed. So exactly why have these talking heads come to such a ridiculous conclusion? Well, they figure that if a recession hasn’t started by now we are probably in relatively good shape. In other words, they are speculating instead of conducting a hard analysis of the numbers. And the numbers are clearly telling us that economic conditions are rapidly getting worse. Of course the U.S. economy has been on shaky ground for quite some time.
