I often wonder what the overall mindset of the average American might be and just how the people on the whole could have allowed America to sink to such destructive depths, in the name of being “good people” and to implement programs “for the Greater Good”, without seeing the harm they inflicted to their own freedoms and liberties, sooner than so late as the present day when it’s very nearly too late to correct quickly and effectively.

Each year, as the anniversary of September 11th 2001 approaches, I become nauseated and angered all over again, as I recall the events of that morning, especially if the cable stations are replaying the many documentaries again. And as one listens and watches survivors giving their personal eyewitness testimonies from this horrendous day, it’s all too easy to see the pain etched across their faces, as they too relive those moments, wishing that they had each of those 599,616,000 seconds back, so they could tell a loved one, “I Love You”, just one more time …so that they could hold them in their arms just one more time.

Yes, if September 11th 2001 taught Americans anything, it taught us all just how truly fleeting life really is and that any of us can be snuffed from this life in a single terrible moment. It gave new meaning to the old Biblical teaching that no man has any guarantee of tomorrow, and at the same time, it awakened us, if only for a moment, to the actual existential threat Islam represents to all America and to civilization itself. I cannot believe where our nation now stands at eighteen years in the aftermath of September 11th 2001. Never in my wildest flight of imagination did I ever think I would see our nation so ready to accept and embrace such evil as Islam holds, as the ignorant madding masses continue to preach the glory and wonders of “coexist”, “Chrislam” and the damnable LIE that Islam is “a religion of peace“.

Although this piece isn’t an analysis of Islam or America’s interaction with Islam and Muslims, it does reveal a certain weakness in the psyche of the United States population, when we have not seemed to learn from history, and eighteen years after 9/11 Muslims are serving in Congress at the same moment Muslim terrorists are still being captured on our soil. This, for me, is indeed indicative of the fact that America has forgotten, and their promise was meaningless words intended to salve the confusion, hurt, fear and anger they felt in the moment.
