This is what comes from “retiring” sooner than a man should. But truthfully, I must say I’m glad to be far and away removed from the madness of the corporate spinning and endless cycle of psychological bullshit aligned with all the politically correct programs that still persist in the corporate world today – that bullshit that ultimately led to the Woke movement and so many other detrimental and destructive programs across society, that which allowed the Transgendered Movement to grow to mammoth, militant proportions and tried to make the mutilation of children appear to be as ordinary as ordering a piece of apple pie at Mom’s Diner on 41A in Murfreesboro.
I know that in the grand scheme of things, no matter what anyone thinks of me, for better or worse. I am a man of little importance for the most part. And many people might question the reasons I write so prolifically on an entire array of topics, and to them, I say that it is to be certain there is an accounting of some sort left behind for whoever is to follow in this fight for the soul of America…
I can only hope that some people will still be reading and making note of some of my most important articles many years from now, but being only on the internet and not in a hard copy form, that is a matter filled with uncertainty, since the major search engines still make it difficult to find conservative leaning authors and publications. Still, on some far off day, whether it be ten or twenty years from this day, I would love to know that some young man or woman found my writings and felt their impact within their very core, moved enough to take up the fight for themselves.
I write so the generations that follow – those members of them who might love America despite all the propaganda that says they shouldn’t – will know that in the years before them, yes, there really did live men such as You and myself, who loved this America so well and every bit, if not more, than they do.
Enough problems exist today in America that we will never want for a lack of topics to bring to the people’s attention.
Sometimes, I have found that I can put the larger idea nagging at the back of my mind into clearer focus by way of a poem. A poem is often a great mechanism to deliver a broad idea in a short, concise manner that resonates with many.
Weather the Storm
My heart’s on fire, the flame grows higher,
So I will weather the storm,
Though the sky breaks black and the thunder cracks,
And the night is cold and forlorn.
I was born to stand when the hard times land,
With my boots in the blood-wet clay,
And I’ll curse the fear and salute the dawn
Of a hard-won, honest day.
I’ve known lean years and I’ve shed my tears
Where the strong men silently kneel,
With a whispered prayer and a steady hand
On the things no gold can steal.
For I’ve got my name and my children’s eyes,
And a faith that the dark can’t bend,
And a God who walks the broken roads
From the first to the bitter end.
I’ve seen freedom bought with a costly price,
In the dust of a far-off hill,
By the ones who stood when they could’ve run
But chose iron instead of will.
This land’s not just soil and line and law —
It’s a promise painfully earned,
By calloused hands and stubborn hearts
That refused to let hope burn out or burn.
So let the winds come howling in,
Let the wolves cry close and loud,
I’ll plant my feet where my fathers stood
And won’t bow my head to the crowd.
For my heart’s on fire, the flame grows higher,
And it lights what the storm can’t take —
My faith, my blood, my liberty,
And the vows that I’ll never break.
And when the last long night has had its say
And the storm’s blown clean and through,
You’ll find me still, on a sunlit hill,
With my eyes on the red, white, and blue.
Still loving hard, still standing fast,
Still answering freedom’s call —
Because a man ain’t measured by shelter or calm,
But by how he stands when the heavens fall.
