August 21, 2018 ~ What happened at UNC Chapel Hill last night is sickening. This memorial stands in memory of the 1,800 UNC students that were called to service by their State, many of whom lost their lives never returned home to their families. UNC is noteworthy for providing more students to the war than any other university in America. The front of the monument actually depicts a student dropping his textbooks while looking up to a woman symbolizing North Carolina calling him to duty. Continue reading

This past eight months have gone by, and I owe our readers an apology.
On June 23rd, 2014 I moved into my son’s home in Phoenix, Arizona, with the intent of a two month clean-up, paint and minor repair renovation. The purpose: To resell the home at a fair and comfortable profit for the kids. It sure beat selling it for less that what they had paid but two years earlier.
The intent of well laid plans wasn’t meant to be. In a few more days I will be witnessing my ninth full moon in this place, which I now recognize as Heaven on Earth. For those who regularly listen to my daily broadcast, this project has turned into one of total restoration of a home that was built sometime before 1955 and 1962. The jury seems to be out on that one as of yet – but we’ll get it figured out. Continue reading
October 21, 2012: The Last Supper?
October 21, 2012 ~ Last evening, my wife and I went out for dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s in Avondale, Arizona, as it it is one of our favorite places to dine – and last night was exceptional.
As we entered, I noticed three uniformed U.S. Army soldiers sitting at the bar. As we were walking toward our table, the manager walked toward me, and I asked her to buy the guys a drink “on me.” She thanked me, and I thought that this would be the end of it. Continue reading
