“Detest all those white men if you will, but they were the ones who created the nation we inherited.” ~ Pat Buchanan, June 15th 2020
America witnessed a fairly intense campaign to remove or destroy statues memorializing revered and honored men of the Confederate States of America in 2017, and in the wake of George Floyd’s murder by a policeman in Minneapolis, once again, America is seeing a broader range of destruction aimed at any and all statues, monuments, and memorials honoring all those men of impeccable character, who had some part in making America exceptional. Rioting, looting and burning American cities are no longer enough, and in their ignorance of historical fact, they peddle their revisionist history without factual foundation, and they also seek to destroy every last vestige, right down to the tiniest bit, of American history, even the movie ‘Gone With the Wind‘, while police and public officials stand down, and even encourage them. Sack of Rome by the Visigoths 24 August 410 by JN Sylvestre 1890
The statues and monuments honoring Confederate soldiers and their commanders were a tribute to American national reconciliation after the Civil War has ended in 1865. Now, an anti-American, anti-white cabal is calling for their desecration and removal because they allegedly are symbols of racism and slavery that bring painful memories of the past.
That is an unproven nonsense, or B.S. ~ using colloquial language.
The Civil War was not about slavery, although many tried to falsely portray it as such. After all, Lincoln, in his First Inaugural Address, declared that he had no intention to impose the abolition of slavery on the South, leaving it to individual states to decide. The Civil War was mainly about excessive taxation of the productive South by the revenue-hungry North. The Confederate soldiers who gave their young lives in the War were not fighting in the defense of slavery, although some of them might think they were. They were told that they were defending their Confederate States from armed invasion from the Union. They were fighting against imposition of grossly uneven federal tariffs and duties that benefited the North at the expense of the South. There is no shred of credible evidence that they were all or predominantly racist or advocates of slavery. But now, every single Confederate soldier that died in that War has been posthumously declared a “racist” and a “slavery defender” as if their young lives lost in the War were waste that did not matter. Sometimes it seems life can’t get any worse in this country. Already in terror of a pandemic, Americans have lately been bombarded with images of grotesque state-sponsored violence, from the murder of George Floyd to countless scenes of police clubbing and brutalizing protesters. Continue reading
Atlanta Police have released bodycam and dashcam footage showing the moments leading to the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks in a Wendy’s parking lot.
The shooting happened late Friday night at the fast food restaurant on University Avenue.
This is the first 42-minutes of the 1 hour, 23 minute video from the body cam of Officer Devin Brosnan. The name of a person not involved in this incident has been removed from the audio track. The rest is unedited.
On May 12, 1703, the Russian army under Peter the Great captured an important Swedish fort on the Baltic Sea called Nyenskans.
It was a major victory for Peter in his war against the Swedish Empire. Russia was a rising power in the early 1700s, but Peter was in critical need of a Baltic seaport to be able to trade with the rest of Europe…
The capture of Nyenskans was so important that Peter decided to move his capital there. And he renamed it Saint Petersburg.
Technically he called it “Sankt-Pieter-Burch,” which is a Dutch/German spelling of the name; Peter made tremendous efforts throughout his reign to westernize Russia, and naming his capital city in a European style was part of that effort. Continue reading
Individual freedom can only exist in the context of free-market capitalism. Personal freedom thrives in capitalism, declines in government-regulated economies, and vanishes in communism. Aside from better economic and legislative policies, what America needs is a more intense appreciation for individual freedom and capitalism. Continue reading
Many blacks often exhibit asocial behavior that is immensely incompatible with the ethical and legal standards on which our Republic has been built. We have seen many examples of such behavior since proliferation of digital technology made taking and distributing of live videos readily available to average people. They include: rioting, looting, vandalism, destruction, and attacks on law enforcement, just to name a few.
Not that all or a majority of blacks engage in this kind of asocial behavior, or that blacks are the only ones who do it, but many seem to possess a natural propensity to resort to it when faced with reality of which they disapprove. Some will resist a temptation of turning asocial and some, fortunately, will not, but the fact is that they as a group show much less self-restraint in this respect than average Americans do. This creates a serious problem for our national unity and stability of our Republic. It would be irrational, and even dangerous, to ignore it. Continue reading

Rolling Stone magazine is a liberal rag, and editor Matt Taibbi is unquestionably a liberal. And yet, by some miracle, Taibbi has seen the light and isn’t afraid to point out what is so clearly obvious to conservatives. “It feels liberating to say after years of tiptoeing around the fact, but the American left has lost its mind,” Taibbi wrote. “It’s become a cowardly mob of upper-class social media addicts, Twitter Robespierres who move from discipline to discipline torching reputations and jobs with breathtaking casualness.” Continue reading
The collapse of the rule of law across the country, intensified by Antifa radicals, is terrifying.
Out of the Fog… Into the Darkness
Savagery is spreading with lightning speed across the United States, with murderous assaults on police officers and civilians and the ecstatic annihilation of businesses and symbols of the state. Welcome to a real civilization-destroying pandemic, one that makes the recent saccharine exhortations to “stay safe” and the deployment of police officers to enforce outdoor mask-wearing seem like decadent bagatelles.
This particular form of viral chaos was inevitable, given the failure of Minneapolis’s leaders to quell the city’s growing mayhem. The violence began on Tuesday, May 26, the day after the horrifying arrest and subsequent death of George Floyd. On the night of Thursday, May 28, Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey ordered the city’s Third Police Precinct evacuated as the forces of hatred, distinct from legitimate forms of protest, descended upon it for a third day in a row. The building was promptly torched, sending a powerful sign that society would not defend its most fundamental institutions of law and order. Continue reading
Among the more disturbing images to come out of the recent street violence following the killing of George Floyd are those of police officers and white civilians kneeling “in solidarity” with the protesters.
If any of those Americans, black or white, who are protesting the killing of George Floyd are acting in good faith and not in the furtherance of a Leftist agenda, then they are either uninformed or they are being manipulated. Continue reading
From President Obama:
“[T]he small minority of folks who’ve resorted to violence in various forms, whether out of genuine anger or mere opportunism, are putting innocent people at risk, compounding the destruction of neighborhoods… and detracting from the larger cause…. [L]et’s not excuse violence, or rationalize it, or participate in it.”
From Terrence Floyd, brother of George:
“In every case of police brutality the same thing has been happening. You have protests, you destroy stuff … so they want us to destroy ourselves. Let’s do this another way,” he said, encouraging the crowd to vote and to educate themselves. “Let’s switch it up, y’all.”

No one’s opinion changes the reality that an uninterrupted pregnancy results in the birth of a human child.
(Recently), media outlets are promoting a new documentary (let’s call it a “mockumentary”) titled, “AKA Jane Roe.” Ostensibly, it tells the story of Norma McCorvey, the real-life “Roe” in the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade. Apparently, this production is newsworthy three years after her death and a half-century beyond the circumstances that made her the anonymous plaintiff in the case because of a recorded “deathbed confession.” Not only does the production feature her assertion that her pro-life posture was fabricated but also that she received some financial support from pro-life organizations (“anti-abortion” as the MSM frames it). Since 1960, the racist identity politics of the left has politicized and degraded American history in academia and the news media. One of the problems with academia is that, in a metaphorical sense, it is inbred. Continue reading
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem
Pierre, South Dakota — The coronavirus crisis hasn’t been kind to the reputations of many governors.
New York’s Andrew Cuomo held effective news conferences that at first burnished his image, but he’s now ducking responsibility for sending virus patients back into nursing homes where the disease promptly spread. Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer is now seen as a scold who on the one hand has kept pot dispensaries open but, on the other, last week told residents who’ve gone three months without hair care to just “Google how to do a haircut.” Continue reading
I just finished rereading Jeff Shaara’s interesting book The Glorious Cause. Admittedly this is historical fiction, though Shaara has stayed as close to the truth of history as he can. He has updated the dialogue to what we can understand better today, but most of the historical events are pretty close to the truth. This is the story of our first War for Independence, the one we fought in 1775 and afterwards until 1781.
We also fought a second War for Independence from 1861-65. We lost that one and not only the South, but the whole country has lived with the results of that loss when Lincoln destroyed what the founders had given us. We have never gotten it back and I doubt if we will in my lifetime or my childrens’ lifetime. Continue reading
I’m tired, and that’s the one thing I know for certain. I’m sick and tired of watching these Democratic Party Brownshirts, Fascists and Thugs destroying our Country bit by bit and piece by piece, as though excising America’s death by a thousand cuts, except today they have accelerated their agenda and are destroying Her whole chunks at a time, one Democratic city to the next, from Los Angeles to Chicago to Minnesota, New York and even on to Atlanta, a “conservative” city with a heavy Democrat population.
Tens of millions of Americans love and respect the flag. We despise the rioters and we support our police. Continue reading
