There was a time when the Communist Party in this country was an obscure party that ran candidates in our elections that stood no chance of winning and had a party platform that was so decidedly leftist that no sensible person would consider voting for it.
All that has changed in the past few years. In fact it has changed so much that the original Communist Party could now just fold up its leftist tents and steal away as it is no longer needed. It has been replaced – not by the Socialist Workers Party or any of those other little-known left-wing groups.
It has now been replaced by the Democratic Party, that group I charitably refer to as “Demoncrats.” The Democrats now have as part of their entourage, a group called the Democratic Socialists of America. This includes a goodly number of elected Democrats who seem to have no problem whatever identifying as socialists. You have people like Bernie Sanders who is openly socialist and although Bernie is no longer officially a Democrat, he was at one point a Democrat as well as a socialist. I guess the Democratic Party wasn’t moving fast enough to the left to satisfy Bernie so he hauled his freight into so-called independency. Maybe now he should consider rejoining.
The present Democratic Party is, if anything, further to the left that the Communist Party was fifty years ago. The Democrats now want illegal aliens to be able to vote. Don’t you know, it’s “racist” to only expect to have American citizens to be able to vote in American elections. Why the whole world should be able to come in here and help us to choose our elected officials. That’s the only true way forward toward preserving “democracy.”
And where the House has passed a bill to guarantee that only citizens get to vote, our august Democratic Senate will do everything possible to deep six that effort so that illegal aliens can vote in November and help re-elect crumbling Joe Biden.
Should China Joe not be able to hold on until the election, then we will probably be treated to the antics of Comrade Kamala, who defends terrorists that burn down our cities in “peaceful” protests. Plus the fact that since her father was a Jamaican national when she was elected vice president she is probably not eligible to be president. But that little impediment will be overlooked. After all, it would be “racist” to not elect her just because she is ineligible.
If you abide by present Democratic standards, anyone anywhere should be able to run for president of this country – Zelensky, Putin, Netanyahu – anyone. Doesn’t true democracy allow for anyone from anywhere to be elected? Confining it to naturalized Americans is so very restrictive when we should all consider ourselves as “citizens of the world.”
Abortion is another hot button issue. Democrats, and unfortunately some Republicans, feel that mothers should have the right to murder their unwanted children, right up to and including the moment of birth. The former Democratic governor of Virginia was even in favor of killing them after they had been born. Now there’s democracy in action and living color. I’m afraid anyone suggesting this kind of thing is probably beyond help!
One Republican political operative has been credited with making the statement: “Famous Chinese leaders like Mao Zedong and Mikhail Gorbachev loved democracy because democracy is a step toward socialism, which is a step toward communism.” I don’t know if he said this or not, but if so, he understood what democracy was actually all about, a step toward communism and dictatorship.
I cringe when I hear these Democratic politicians rant about “saving our democracy.” If they don’t know the difference between a republic and a democracy then they shouldn’t be in office. And if they do know the difference then they are lying to us! Whatever people may or may not think of it, this is a constitutional republic and to change that at this point may lead us to something a lot worse. So we need to resist what the Democrats are trying to do because if they carry it far enough it may well lead to dictatorship!
