J. B. Shurk had an insightful article on American Thinker that also appeared on Lew Rockwell’s site for June 12th. Shurk covered lots of areas, but I can’t deal with them all. His commentary on our political parties was quite revelatory.

He stated: “With RINO cowards (I would have just called them socialist Republicans) such as Romney always looking to shiv them in the back, Republican voters have been forced to remake the party into something that vaguely represents their interests. ‘Shouldn’t the party have always represented their interests?’ a reasonable person might ask. Not in Bizarro World! Here the Republican Party has long worked for a small number of financial heavyweights who believe that Republican voters exist to serve them. The more salt-of-the-earth Republicans advance their own political objectives, the faster Romney-like RINOs denounce them as ‘a threat to democracy.’ In this dystopia the best form of ‘democracy’ is the one where an insular cabal of privileged and wealthy ‘elites’ decide everything for everyone else. Real self-government is entirely too insurrection-y. News flash: Democrats and RINOs share the same beliefs.”

That shouldn’t be a news flash to anyone that thinks. It’s like old George Wallace said decades ago now about Republicans and Democrats He called them Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and said there was not a dimes worth of difference between them. Old George was right on the money! The Democratic Party today are basically Marxists. In their early days in the late 1850s the Republicans were basically Marxists and some haven’t changed all that much.

You do have a handful of conservative Republicans in Washington, but not a big enough handful to really help the American people. And then you have the Republican problem with organizations like AIPAC, whose chief interest is aiding Israel at America’s expense. Conservative congressman Thomas Massie has observed that just about all Republican congress people except him have what he calls AIPAC babysitters who stay on their backs to make sure they all vote the right way when it comes to aiding Israel. So, when it comes to votes that will benefit either Israel or the US, but not both, how will those congress people vote? You already know the answer. Question – if such congress people are going to vote in Israel’s favor instead of ours – why shouldn’t Israel pay their congressional salaries instead of the US having to pay them to vote against our interests? Don’t everybody answer at once! More and more it looks like ordinary citizens are victims of the Uni-party.

Shurk continues: “How do we know? Because republican voters have spent decades demanding smaller government, less illegal immigration, balanced budgets and renewed deference to constitutional constraints and the Bill of Rights. Republican leaders have promised to get right on that  – just as soon as they build the Department of Homeland Security, provide sixty million illegal aliens with amnesty, add trillions to the debt in war spending , and expand the PATRIOT Act so that the federal government can spy on every citizen of the United States! Don’t worry, though. Every Republican voter unhappy with the party will still receive a free t-shirt that says ‘I’m with Karl Rove!…” That should make your whole day! Your congress critters may vote against your interests and for Israel’s, but you’ll still have your Karl Rove t-shirt! I may sound like an ungrateful wretch, but somehow that doesn’t quite do it for me.

I know Trump will probably do what he can for us if he can stay out of jail, but with half of his own party trying to deep six both him and us, how much chance do ordinary Americans have? Much of the leadership in both Marxist-oriented parties is only out there to make big bucks for their friends while stabbing us all in the back, after which they will laugh all the way to the bank.

Maybe if we’d had real historians to teach us instead of the leftist book salesmen we’ve had and maybe if we’d had a genuine independent system of education instead of a Marxian “public education” system we’ve been saddled with for 150 plus years things might be different. That concept of “insurrection-y self-government” begins to sound better all the time. We may just be at the point where we will have to start from scratch all over again because we sure ain’t getting any help from our elected leadership!
