Dickens: What If… We’re One Nation Under Siege?

What If… We were on the Highway to Hell?

With libel and outrage, partisan political party specific, of course…

After all, we are at war. And all’s fair in love and war…

This is democracy reimagined, redefined, remitted, but not requested.

I co-opted this column’s sub-title from our Pledge of Allegiance, and it is meant to be the antithesis of the affirmation everyone should know by heart. I said it every day in grade school, and even in high school. Yes, I grew up a long, long time ago when things were very, very different. America was different, culture was different, society was different, people were different, and patriotism was not a dirty word.

The symptoms of our demise were always there, but the patriotic optimism that propelled us through two world wars and several military police actions has been devoured by hatred emanating from an uber-liberal partisan political party, driven by an all-consuming, virulent demon called malicious hatred. This is the fruit of the super-dooper-ultra-uber-liberal acrimony splintering the country.

The two preeminent partisan political parties are at war for our republic: there are at least 55 registered with ballot access. Yes, I said OUR republic. Somewhere back in time, we’ve all forgotten who runs what!

America is a representative republic that uses the democratic process to select its leaders. I reiterate this because We The People hire our representatives to manage this republic, and they choose to ignore this part once they are appointed; you know, the part about who put them in these positions.

This war’s been in full vigor from the very beginning, and tragically, we exacerbate it by choosing sides.

We’ve gone from a fledgling republic to full-on political chaos in about 300 years, and at the rate we’re going, we’ll be lucky to see this through to an amicable conclusion. It may be helpful to recall that the fall of Rome took only 100 years, so we’re not doing too badly in the grand scheme of things; yet we’re incredibly proud of our accomplishments.

We’ve invented machines that simulate and even imitate human thought, but we still struggle to figure out how to live together in harmony. It’s as though we’ve abandoned the idea of solidarity in support of discord from the very beginning of this grand experiment. This is our right… Isn’t it?

We’ve traveled to the moon and sent robot probes to other planets, even sent them into the cosmos, but we can’t cure the common cold or teach our children to read and do simple math.

We can’t even agree to disagree. We don’t discuss, we accuse. All we do is argue… violently!

We put a price on everything, especially success. Profit is our measure of competence and acumen. Socio-economic and political notoriety elevate an individual to divine status, not their contributions to this republic or humanity. Wealth and position are our measures of achievement.

    Bungles…

Maybe it’s not just these two partisan political parties. What if outside influences are at work within this country, helping to facilitate our downfall? It’s certainly something to consider. Whatever happened to the nearly 2 million got-aways that crossed the US borders during the ‘Bungles the Clown’, aka Biden-Harris regime? As I recall, most of them were military-aged men from countries hostile to America. Many of whom were supporters of regimes intent on America’s demise. Where are they now, and are they helping their mother country bring about the demise of the Great Satan? Are they in league with the devil, dividing this republic?

Other clandestine entities are working to pillage and plunder this republic. They fund partisan political campaigns, champion traitorous rhetoric, subsidize anti-American judicial positions, pay rioters and protesters to create havoc in the streets, and support Left-wing Congressional seats, all to devastate this republic by using the principles of democracy to destroy it. I’d call this insidious insurrection… and that’s treason.

We can’t discount those within our government working to sabotage it from within.

Cicero had a marvelous quote about this… He said:

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

Americans tend to reinterpret the meaning of words and phrases to suit their own illusions, opportunistic perceptions, and self-serving aspirations, all in service to their own agendas. Case in point, our freedoms under the US Constitutional Amendments. They’re written in such a way that there is no absolute interpretation, only the latitude used by every malcontent with an anti-anything agenda. There are implied guardrails in the language, but they also fall prey to the partisan political party’s purpose-driven preoccupation.

The authors of the US Constitution expected citizens of this republic to act and engage responsibly, not to use these freedoms to ultimately affect its demise. But that’s freedom for you… We have no idea how to handle it. The image of a chimpanzee with a machine gun comes to mind.

The system for adjudicating challenges is far too cumbersome to address them quickly. The Constitutional antagonists demand Due Process, whatever the dickens that may be… The records of these tests address the complaint specifically, leaving little to interpretation, not only locking the opinion to that specific case but also to every subsequent one. The operative word in all of this is ‘opinion,’ offered by a knowledgeable individual appointed to arbitrate, decide without bias and political positions.

Unfortunately, that rarely happens; instead, those biases influence their decisions. This is where Lady Justice’s blindfold is removed, introducing a variety of personal, partisan political preferences.

* I discovered this little tidbit while researching this column… The phrase ‘the dickens’ is an old English reference to the devil… The dickens you say is interpreted as the devil you say… Well…

Matthew 7:1 comes to mind… “Judge not, lest ye be judged…” which encourages introspection, self-reflection, and humility, advising against hypocritical judgment instead of compassion, but it does not forbid discernment.

       Heah dey iz!

The phrase “It is the court’s opinion that…” further complicates future adjudication, thus inexorably changing the ruling from an opinion to a precedent.

We think we’re so bloody brilliant…

Our founder’s idea was to create a framework for this democratic republic with a balanced system of powers to prevent tyranny and foster growth, as well as to check the government’s powers. It was not intended to empower people to corrupt and abuse it as a means of control, but rather to prevent despotic governments from emerging. Unfortunately, this is precisely where we find ourselves today: embroiled in a partisan political civil war of intent, inference, implication, and insidious insurrection.

When there is no working plan or path forward, we demean every idea and everything the other party does, rather than advancing a strategy for improving the republic with well-considered suggestions; we choose to move everyone backward into chaos. This is one of the key tactics to promoting cultural upheaval and transformation. God forbid that they should actually debate, discuss, and decide on the best course for the republic, rather than what’s advantageous for the partisan political party in power.

“For words, like nature, half reveal – half conceal the Soul within…” ~ Tennyson

The strategies so far betray their intentions to refashion America into some hybrid Marxist-Oligarchic political philosophy, with them in control, moving us further from our origins. Change is necessary for growth, and restraint is crucial to our success. The critical flaw in democracy is a lack of participation.

You could call this the devil in action, but that’s a name we invented to describe our imperious penchant for evil as a convenient entity to blame for our indiscretions… we can’t seem to admit that we are that Devil.

What is morally wrong can never be advantageous, even when it enables you to make some gain that you believe to be to your advantage. The mere act of believing that some wrongful course of action constitutes an advantage is pernicious.” ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 – 43 BCE)

I know that morality and ethics are often viewed as archaic, stochastic concepts in this society and culture; perhaps that’s what’s wrong with this republic. We see ourselves as the center of this cultural universe rather than an integral part of it.

Reread Cicero’s quote above and consider this country’s present circumstances; tell me I’m wrong.

Perhaps a return to civility, without rebukes or references to the most reprehensible individuals in the world’s history, such as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Genghis Khan, would be a great beginning. Let’s stop referring to our law enforcement as the Gestapo, Storm-Troopers, and jack-booted thugs. Yet, that would require some introspection and contrition, and, God forbid, admitting personal culpability for the violence it foments.

Our elected representatives are well aware that a majority of this republic operates on a 6th-grade comprehension level and are highly susceptible to their suggestions that we face existential threats from those they demonize, advancing the theory of indoctrination over education.

My recommendation is to consider the needs of all citizens, rather than those of your partisan, politically motivated special interest donors and voting bloc.

It appears that more than two major partisan political factions are vying for power. America is under siege. I think there’s more to this than meets the eye. What if all the 2 million unidentified invaders from enemy countries are here to help the Democrat-Socialists? You remember, all those military-aged unaccompanied men who disappeared into our country? You know… the ones from China, Iraq, Iran, Russia, and other unfriendly countries that Biden allowed to enter unvetted. There were an estimated 2 million of them. That’s quite an army.

Consider the enormous pressure from naturalized citizens with Muslim and Islamic ideological inclinations. America has massive concentrations of these adherents in the Great Lakes areas. They are a formidable partisan political cudgel to wield for the Marxists. Their mother countries have Jihads and Intifadas called on the Great Satan America. We are their enemy.

George Washington warned that the two-party political system would lead to this kind of conflict and discord; too few listened. So, in true Merkan erudite tradition, we mock his admonition as irrelevant, and we allow this new republic to be split along partisan political lines. This is another Genie we thought we could control.

Several common factors are associated with a country’s collapse.

– Economic

– Political Polarization and infighting

– Civil disobedience and violence

– Demographic shifts

– Corruption and mismanagement

– Foreign intervention

– Foreign wars

– Invasions

I thought about highlighting those impacting our republic… then I realized that they are all present in America. Any one of these is sufficient to initiate the collapse, but in combination, they are formidable and indomitable. I hope you get the picture. We’re on the fast track, and to quote a song by AC/DC, We’re on the Highway to Hell…

Take a moment to consider each of the indicators listed above, and then list the items from the mainstream media that align with these indicators. I could turn this into a game, but the idea is to have you recall the situations from your understanding and memory for clues. It’s something to keep in mind as you experience the sludge emanating from the Corporate Media Complex.

“Give them bread and circuses.”

Divide et Impera – Divide and Rule is an ancient political and military strategy attributed to Phillip of Macedon and successfully utilized by Julius Caesar. It breaks down large concentrations of power into smaller, more manageable parts, making them easier to manipulate. It refers to gaining power by creating and exploiting divisions in an existing political structure. This should be familiar to anyone following the news, and for history aficionados, it’s the stratagem employed in every war from the Mongols to the present day. I’ve used this analogy before in many columns. Here it is again to reinforce the point that what is happening in America is a well-planned and well-orchestrated socio-political assault on this republic.

Please take a step back from the mainstream media’s narrative and observe their tactics. How is the attacker working to fracture the existing structure to take advantage of the weakened political framework, as Washington warned?

Ask yourself…

Why are they calling the opposition leaders Nazis, Fascists, Oligarchs, Authoritarians, Hitler, Gestapo, stormtroopers, jack-booted-thugs, slave-gangs, or some other hateful, contemptuous, derisive name? Isn’t it to create dissension or discord… It is NOT accidental… And… It’s undoubtedly not complimentary… These are carefully chosen insults to elicit, to trigger a negative response, and to connect the individual with these heinous historical monsters.

Ask yourself…

Are they attacking the policies or people?

What’s their motivation?

Who’s funding all of this?

Who stands to gain the most?

“Any man can make a mistake, but only an idiot persists in his error.” ~ Cicero

What if we begin celebrating and defending illegal activities, violent protests, and attacking law enforcement?

What happens when our focus swings from the republic to the individual?

What if those responsible for the mayhem and destruction become the heroes and are protected by a liberalized legal system, the system established to protect us from these bad actors?

Pull your heads out of the sand and look around you.

What do you see?

Do you see a country and republic fighting for the good of the many, or to protect and revere the felonious few? Or do you, like me, see partisan politics run amok?

I see the Corporate Media Complex and the Mainstream Media Outlets doing the bidding of the Ultra Liberal Left Wing Democratic-Socialist party to support their radical obstructionist ideology, to fundamentally transform America into Obama’s and the Left’s vision. They seek to usher in a New World Order with two classes: The Oligarchy and those who support it. You can call it many things, but the textbook title is Marxism.

SO…

What if it’s all gone too far for us to recover, to put America back on the path that made us who we were? I intentionally used the word WERE to emphasize that we are no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. This is no longer one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. It is no longer ‘We the People’… We are no longer the United States of America. We are a collection of factions and colonies, some with a common purpose, others united to destroy the republic as it stands, and fundamentally change how these territories interact in these uncoordinated and disparate partisan political protectorates.

What if we’re facing irreconcilable differences?

Can we recover?

Do we even want to?
