Dr. Fauci: ‘He Was Trying to Cover It All Up’

Fox Host and GOP Senator Claim Dr. Fauci Had Ulterior Motives During Covid Pandemic

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) joined Fox & Friends on Monday morning and dabbled in some historical revisionism, explaining that he now believes Dr. Anthony Fauci had ulterior motives in trying to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Fauci, like most other officials in his position around the globe, advised both Presidents Trump and Biden on public health intervention measures to slow the spread of the virus, and has since become a controversial figure, with many critics arguing that he was overzealous in his recommendations.

“Dr. Fauci. I don’t hate him, but let’s face the facts. He made them. He tried to establish complete control over everybody. Why did he do that? In my opinion. He was scared,” Kennedy began, adding:

Dr. Fauci, I think we’re going to find out was funding gain-of-function research on a Chinese lab and the the virus may have gotten out from the lab. And Dr. Fauci saw that and he said, ‘Oh my God, I could get blamed for all this. So I’m going to have to establish complete control so nobody has questions and nobody looks under the seat cushions.’ And I thought he went too far in terms of mandating the vaccine for everybody.

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt agreed and replied, “I never understood why they put him in charge ethically, how they could put him in charge when he was involved with gain-of-function research and being paid for it to discover these types of things. And then he is calling the shots and coming up with all the rules for all of America. So it’s interesting if that’s the reason, because he was scared. He was trying to cover it all up.”

“Well, I don’t hate Dr. Fauci , but I think he was funding gain of function research. And I think there’s a better than even chance he was giving the Chinese money to do this,” Kennedy replied, adding:

And there was a better there’s a better than even chance that that virus escaped from the Chinese lab. And when Dr. Fauci saw that, he said, “my God, I could get blame for all this.” He’s human. He got scared. He and he just said, look, I’m going to establish complete control. I’m going to be the master of the Covid universe. But it didn’t work. He acted like that. People got hurt, right?

“Right, he did. And he acted like a thug. And a lot of businesses went out of business and a lot of people lost their livelihoods and their relationships and everything because he got scared,” added Brian Kilmeade.

“And the military. These were 18-year-old, 19-year-old kids that workout every day. They’re healthy,” Earhardt interjected.

“Right? Well, the worst of it is that all of this undermined the institution of public health. So next time people will trust our public health institutions less. And that’s not a good thing,” Kennedy concluded.

The CIA, now under the leadership of John Radcliffe , released a statement on Sunday saying the “CIA assesses with low confidence that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin based on the available body of reporting.”

“CIA continues to assess that both research-related and natural origin scenarios of the COVID-19 pandemic remain plausible,” added the agency.

Fauci, who President Donald Trump recently stripped of federal protection, has been the target of angry political vitriol and personal death threats over his role in trying to mitigate the spread of Covid-19. Fauci served as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since the mid-1980s and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W, Bush in 2008 for his work related to stopping the spread of AIDS globally.
