Benson: Kangaroo Courts and Show Trials Are Nothing Unusual in Amerika

Comrade Stalin is reported to have said once “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” In other words, show me the man we want arraigned and I’ll show you the crime we will concoct to fit his Personna.

This kind of thing goes all the way back to the Lincoln assassination trial, when the Lincoln conspirators – so called – were put on trial and convicted on the basis of much concocted “evidence” a lot of which had nothing whatever to do with the crime at hand. But that made no difference. They were there to be convicted, not to receive an honest trial.

You could say the same thing about Trump’s case today. He’s not there to receive an honest trial because he hasn’t. He sits there under a conflicted judge whose daughter is a big fundraiser for the Democrats and he sits in a place of trial where most people simply hate him. A change of venue would hardly have been out of place for this trial – but of course that’s not the game plan. The game plan is to make sure he’s convicted before the election – -no matter what.

If, through some miracle the jury should find him innocent (an unlikely occurrence) the judge would probably burst a blood vessel. I can recall a case I heard about during the textbook protest in West Virginia during the 1970s. One of the protest leaders was charged, if I recall correctly, with a plot to destroy a building that housed a batch of the offensive and foul textbooks. He was arrested, indicted by a grand jury, and went to trial. At the end of the trial the jury came back with a not guilty verdict. The judge sent them out again with the advice that they better “rethink that.”

Well, they did and when they came back they informed the judge that they could still not find the protest leader guilty. At that point the judge exploded and told the jury. point blank, that unless they brought back the verdict he wanted, they were not going home! The judge could sit there forever. He was being paid. The jury couldn’t. They had to work for a living and what they got for serving on a jury would hardly cover a day’s pay at their jobs. I’ve been called for jury duty so I know. What you got for serving on a jury would cover about two hours pay for whatever day you had to serve. If you were there for a week, it cost you. Eventually, with little choice, the jury reluctantly found the protest leader guilty.

It’s about the same situation with Trump. He’s not there for a fair trial – he’s there to be convicted. Presumably a conviction will make some people hesitant to vote for him next November. If you called that election interference you’d be right. But with the current Biden/Obama regime in power anything goes. Election interference to them refers to anyone that dares to run against Juiced-up Joe and his scheme of Bidenomics which is intended to take down America.

Want me to suck the Jury, your Honor?

Indeed, the prosecution in Trump’s trial has not even been able to succinctly explain what Trump is being tried for and they’ve had all manner of salacious “evidence” from Stormie Daniels that really has nothing whatever to do with the case at hand. And after all this foolishness, they have a judge that will “explain” the law to the jury.

I’ll just bet he will – convict or else! So I’ve no doubt whatever that Trumps “guilt” was already assured before the first day he entered the courtroom. If they can do this to a former president, just think of what they could do to you or I. Now that’s a sobering thought for the day!
