I’m in a battle of wits and realize that my opponent is unarmed – maybe they just don’t care, choosing ignorance and agnosticism over knowing.
I don’t fault them because I see two figures under that robe…
I’ll open with an excerpt I’ve used several times. I introduce it, bridging a chasm between then and now – 1843 and 2024 – and introducing metaphoric rhetoric from two very different authors pertinent to this article.
“Oh, Man! look here. Look, look, down here!” exclaimed the Ghost.
“They were a boy and girl. Yellow, meager, ragged, scowling, wolfish, but prostrate, too, in their humility. Where graceful youth should have filled their features out, and touched them with its freshest tints, a stale and shriveled hand, like that of age, had pinched, and twisted them, and pulled them into shreds. Where angels might have sat enthroned, devils lurked, and glared out menacing. No change, no degradation, no perversion of humanity, in any grade, through all the mysteries of wonderful creation, has monsters half so horrible and dread.”
“Scrooge started back, appalled. Having them shown to him in this way, he tried to say they were fine children, but the words choked themselves, rather than be parties to a lie of such enormous magnitude.”
“Spirit! are they yours?” Scrooge could say no more.
“They are Man’s,” said the Spirit, looking down upon them. “And they cling to me, appealing from their fathers. This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased. Deny it!” cried the Spirit, stretching out its hand towards the city. “Slander those who tell it ye! Admit it for your factious purposes, and make it worse. And bide the end!” ~ Charles Dickens ~ A Christmas Carol
Throughout history, actual events and literary conjuring’s point to the same critical conditions and direction, but our choices ignore the warnings. We don’t want to know.
Poe’s short story “The Masque of the Red Death” (1845) is about a disease that plagues a fictional country. Its victims die a quick and gruesome death.
My jue de mots (play on words) on the title is about a once great nation suffering a horrible plague codified by rapacious people obsessed with power and their quest for control at any cost, even if it means the destruction of the republic to attain their goal… That goal is the topic of speculation and inference; I’ve written about my views several times in the past months, but only the architects of the treason know the reason.
Partisan politics doesn’t cause a quick death. It is equally as gruesome as Poe’s Red Death and, to a greater extent, more insidious. The spectacle playing before us represents the full weight of this partisan folly.
One of the parties has near total control of the components that comprise our republic and fights assiduously for the remaining scraps, forcing the other party into a ‘damage-control’ posture, attempting to regain lost ground and rectitude, no less ardent but lost in a fractious cult confused by truth and hobbled by infighting – for there is no unity of purpose.
Nothing is done with the republic in mind… They would eat their young to further the cause – is it dedication or obsession?
Refresher: there are three major branches of government in our constitutional republic:
1. Executive – The President
2. Legislative – Congress (the opposite of progress)
3. Judicial – The Supreme Court
Today’s piece is about a cancerous ‘two-mor‘ (tumor as in the two-party politics) that took root in our republic shortly after it was born; it’s metastasized over the past 200 years when Democratic-Republicans divided over questions about the federal government’s powers broke into two separate parties setting the stage for the battle between Marxism and the Constitutional Republic. The rift has devolved into name-calling, innuendo, and baseless accusations, culminating in the alienation of the citizenry along ideological alignments – Republicans are the conservative right or Red party; Democrats are the liberal left or Blue party.
Names or titles for these ‘two-mors‘ are inconsequential, but they represent the two main actors in this spectacle and extravaganza in disloyalty to the republic.
Since that original split, the patient – America, has been in serious trouble. “A house divided cannot stand…” We are on Basic Life Support (BLS), and the Nationalist American Socialist Party (NASP) is reaching out to disconnect it.
“Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.” ~ Matthew 12:25
In a divided family, city, or country, there are no winners, only losers.
I don’t consider myself religious, but I find astonishing wisdom in these ancient texts. In past articles, I’ve explained my beliefs about ancient religions and their writings. I find their messages parallel logic and reason; they have much to teach us if we are open to these messages rather than belaboring attributions to any deity.
The ‘two-mor‘ I reference is the fractured and partisan divide we call Democrat and Republican parties. Our need to further simplify the identification of these factions by inference through color sets the tone for what follows. The Masque of this Red Death is our dilemma because of partisan politics. America is dying a slow and gruesome death because of and being behind its mask.
The Masque of the Red Death obscures our views of the truth, hiding it from the people it impacts by whom we hire to manage it for us. Their cohorts in the Corporate Media spread the deception by feeding the republic the gaslighting program narratives.
We are “distracted from distraction by distraction.” ~ T.S. Elliot
Here are the accepted associations with these two primary colors: I’ve underlined the predominant meaning for each to simplify things.
· Red = activity, aggression, atonement, danger, hatred, heat, passion, sexuality, war
· Blue = freedom, imagination, inspiration, intelligence, intuition, loyalty, openness, sensitivity, sincerity, stability, wisdom
· (The source of these inferences is Wikipedia)
“The idea of using colors to denote political parties was popularized by TV news broadcasts, which used color-coded maps during presidential elections. However, there was no uniformity in colour choices, with different media outlets using different colours. Some followed the British tradition of using blue for conservatives (Republicans) and red for liberals (Democrats). However, during the 2000 U.S. presidential election – and the lengthy battle to determine the winner – prominent news sources denoted Republicans as red and Democrats as blue, and these associations have persisted.” ~ Encyclopedia Britannica
The colors assigned to the political parties belies their intent and character, so don’t let this confuse you or allow the colors to influence your impressions of these actors. The Corporate media dished out these colors to simplify their identification. However, I think there was some bias involved in the selections.
Corporate Media has always leaned to the Left.
· Republican – Right – Conservative – Red
· Democrat – Left – Liberal – Blue
There is powerful messaging in these color assignments. They are the opposite of the actual position of these cults. An open and honest audit of their positions exposes the dichotomy between action and color association.
A brief history of the Democrat party shows that they defended slavery, supported the War of Northern Aggression (Civil War), opposed Reconstruction, founded the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), imposed segregation, perpetrated lynching, and fought against the Civil Rights Acts in the 1950s and 1960s. They began the wars in Korea and Vietnam.
The Democrat party is associated with the term Military-Industrial Congressional Complex, a phrase coined by President Eisenhower (republican) in his 1961 farewell address.
And… by the way… Lincoln’s assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was a Democrat, proving they would turn on their own and probably eat their children in service to their cause; for the Democrats and any partisan political permutation, for that matter, the End Justifies the Means.
Regardless of your political leanings or biases, the only real losers are the citizens, and the ‘Masque of the Red Death‘ is not one political party, but the devastation created by their struggle for sovereignty.
Their primary tool is “distracting us from distraction by distraction.” The word for this is ‘obfuscation.’ We’re so busy trying to make sense of the messaging and narrative that we don’t see what’s really happening to our country. The gubmint’s partners in this gaslighting and dishonesty are the Corporate Media, who flood the communication networks with misleading messaging, pointless pandering, and horrendous hubris, intended to deflect our attention elsewhere.
I contend this partisan political posturing propagates perpetual all-out war for political control using the ‘scorched-earth strategy, in which the political party’s policy involves deliberate and widespread destruction of individuals’ character, political assassinations – figuratively and literally – and sabotaging resources such as media, political, and corporate alliances, directed toward victory or supremacy at all costs. A crucial partner in this ‘foul play’ is paid accomplices like the Corporate Media, DoJ, CIA, FBI, IRS, and a few other clandestine organizations.
The 2016 elections showed the chinks in their armor and process. The assertions and allegations of Russian collusion were a bit sloppy, and the ballot harvesting and stuffing were equally suspect. They did pull it off, though. MumbleDum is president, and the Supreme Court has sufficient lefties to keep life exciting and manageable for the NASP.
The Left’s weaponization of the Department of Justice, IRS, and Corporate Media toward their goal is the final link in the coup. The test of this far-reaching power was the theft of the 2020 election. They proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that their fully functioning weaponized government branches could perform at banana republic levels.
The carefully scripted and choreographed ‘insurrection‘ of January 6th is a salient example of this corrupt coalition. Although there were no grounds for NASP actions, baseless accusations ruined innocent people’s lives; the show trial came off without a hitch. Even now, several years later, the NASP maintains its hold on their spurious fairy-tail.
Detailed video evidence about the NASP’s antics clearly demonstrates their sedition, and there is no one to prosecute their crimes. The available evidence is damning, yet the NASP machine blocks attempts to litigate their loyal cult members, and that power is turned on their political opponents.
The Left’s tactics for 2024 include a legal campaign of manufactured charges, slick interpretations of the law, an onslaught of 91 charges in 4 felony indictments, and slanderous accusations of treason and sedition. The NASP aims to ruin the opposing candidate morally, legally, and financially during the election cycle.
Ignorance and want are the tools of The Masque of the Red Death – the NASP. Their tactics choke our Constitutional Republic’s rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness through our ignorance and want… Ignorance of the Constitution and our Want of free stuff, not freedom from tyranny.
We’ll listen to any huckster or Snake-Oil Salesman (politician) – and buy their promises because we are ignorant of the actual processes in our republic.
“This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased.”
“Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.” ~ Matthew 12:25

~ The Author ~
Charles R. Dickens was born in 1951, is a veteran of the Vietnam war, for which he volunteered, and the great-great grandson of the noted author, whose name he shares.
He is a fiercely proud American, who still believes this is the greatest country on the planet, with which we’ve lost control and certainly our direction. He grew up in moderate financial surrounding; we’re not rich by any stretch, but didn’t go hungry – his incredibly hard working father saw to that. As most from that era, he learned about life from his father, whose story would take too long to tell, other than to say that, he is also a fiercely proud American; a WWII and Korean war, veteran Marine.
Charlie was educated in the parochial system which, demanded that you actually learn something, and have capability to retain it before you advance. He attended several universities in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and chased the goose further to a master’s, and has retained some very definite ideas about education in this country.
In addition, Charlie is a retired blues guitar and vocalist – a musician. This was his therapy career. Nothing brings him as much joy as playing music, and he wishes that he could make a living at it… but alas… life goes on!
That’s Charlie… a proud, opinionated, and passionate American.
