I didn’t much feel like celebrating anything this year, and I especially don’t feel like celebrating this national holiday that really means next to nothing today, as I see it. I don’t know … You may see it differently for reasons I’m missing, but the overall situation of America today has just sickened me, and I find it hard to believe that this is where we’ve come, despite all the checks and balances provided for in the Constitution.
But then again, our downfall can be explained through the Founders’ own words. They oft stated that our Constitution was designed to be exerted and applied by a moral people and society, and short of staying close to our Christian and Western principles and God, they noted it would fail.
Everybody in America needs to learn that freedom means being Yourself without anyone’s permission, so long as each of us respects one another’s Inalienable God-Given Rights, living our lives meaning no harm and doing no wrong.
Independence Day? Half of America Doesn’t Even Know the Meaning of the Word. They can’t believe they were lucky enough to be born in or come to a country, legally or illegally, that is dumb enough to just give away American citizens’ tax dollars to So Many UNDESERVING “people” who Demand Security Over Liberty. For the Most Part, THEY DON’T EVEN LIKE, MUCH LESS LOVE AMERICA.
The rest of us love America – this Wonderful Country that has done so much for so many and bestowed so much good to the entire world, when and where it was most deserved, even tho’ sometimes we’ve slipped and handed our treasure and given our blood in the wrong places at the wrong time.
Independence isn’t America’s reality today, even if some of us manage to retain a certain level of independence. Our government has worked for decades to ensure that all of us have no choice but to be dependent on the bureaucrats and the agencies, and if You’re living as a truly independent individual in today’s America, it hasn’t come easy.
God Bless the Truly Independent Americans of this America we love so well and this country we all hope to bring back to Her roots and a way of life that demands work from all and pours forth with goodness and a loving simplicity — a way of life that benefits all and creates the highest level of prosperity and the greatest degree of individual liberty ever seen in the entire history of mankind.
I can celebrate Independence Day today only in the spirit of the days when we truly lived free after so many of our ancestors sacrificed so much to bring America into existence as a free people. I can celebrate a momentous time for America, but I cannot celebrate it simply because it is a time-honored tradition or a national holiday, because whether anyone is really independent or not, we are not a free people anymore, not in the sense of what America’s founders wanted and demanded for themselves and future generations.
If this is freedom, you can have it.
