A Seattle high school with a recent history of activism is facing outrage from a parent after her 10th grader was marked wrong for saying only men have penises and only women get pregnant.
The parent and her student, who remained anonymous out of fear of backlash, said the answers were given on a true-false test in an Ethic Studies World History class at Chief Sealth International High School.
The student put that it is ‘true’ that only men have penises and only women can get pregnant on his ‘Understanding Gender vs. Sex’ quiz.
His mother claims the student failed the portion of the quiz as a result of his answers, which led her to speak out.
‘I keep trying to wrap my head around how it is legal to teach inaccurate information and force students to answer against their beliefs or receive negative scores,’ she said.
The quiz also included questions about the usage of they/them pronouns and the idea of gender as a construct, according to KTTH.
The parent said it’s the latest in a series of indignities her son has been made to face at the school.
The woman claims her son has been yelled at by teachers over accusations of racism and ‘a product of the patriarchy that teaches young boys not to care about anything.’
She even claimed he was told ‘he shouldn’t use the term straight to identify as because it’s offensive.’
A spokesperson for Seattle Public Schools defended the quiz in a statement.
‘[Seattle Public Schools] remains committed to fostering inclusive environments that encourage the exploration of contemporary issues, particularly the examination of power systems such as racism and patriarchy. This dedication extends to providing a space for thoughtful exploration and dialogue on these issues.’
The student’s failure on the quiz will not affect his overall grade in the class, the spokesperson added.
The concerned mother – who said that she’s a moderate liberal – says she’s ‘proud of [my son] because he refused to answer against his beliefs.’
Chief Sealth International High School has seen a recent spate of activism.
Students at the school recently walked out of class after text messages between a group of football players discussing sexually assaulting classmates had surfaced, KIRO reported.
The school claims it took immediate action to explore ‘appropriate discipline and additional corrective action’ and also brought in social workers to speak to the students mentioned in the texts.

It is here at the local levels that we need to begin to clean up the mess.
Local schools, local governments, local beaurocracies. This sickness has crept
in at every level of education and government. This is all a mental illness …
They attempt to normalize the delusional ideology by brainwashing our
children in the schools. Then it gets extended out to regulations from the
corrupt and twisted supporters that have infiltrated beaurocracies at every
level of the government. If we don’t begin to eliminate this cancer it will
finally destroy our society. We need to eliminate these elitists and globalist
morons before we are left with nothing.
Fully agreed Lawrence. I invite you to follow this link to a post i just completed. It would seem that a large group of parents are fed up… https://metropolis.cafe/2023/12/17/washingtons-parental-rights-bill-gets-one-step-closer-to-becoming-state-law/
You may well enjoy delving deeply into that site. It is one that I developed years some ago that has much personal meaning for me as relates to the Education system. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.
