Cicero’s final words: “There is nothing proper about what you are doing, soldier, but do try to kill me properly.”
Cicero’s pursuers decapitated him. Once discovered, he bowed to his captors, leaning his head out of the litter in a gladiatorial gesture to ease the task.
Amid the hate and turmoil of our world, we relent so the Sheeple may safely graze. We avert our gaze, content knowing that the barter for security was worth the price – our liberty – so the Sheeple may safely graze.
I ask you, was it really worth the price?
Was our liberty worth the spurious safety of pantomime theater?
We allowed the country to deteriorate to this present state where cities are unsafe for anyone, and the refuse of our species live in sidewalk camps, like vermin in their own filth. Self-destructive in thought and action, escaping reality with an illicit pharma-copia of substances intended to dull remaining senses, avoiding the burden of remorse, and escaping the ties that remind them of bad decisions and squandered lives spent chasing the pipe-dream of an unachievable Merkan Dream.
It’s far too easy to blame society, the country, and misfortune for this self-inflicted catatonia. The drugs dull the shame of an objectionable, wasted life’s mistakes. These dispossessed are underfoot yet practically invisible, relegated to the fringe of society and in life’s gutter. Lower than so much detritus on the ocean’s bottom. But like our unattended garbage, they tend to accumulate. Now, they are Legion, numbering over half a million. They are here, and like everything that ushered them to this point, the causes and effects go unattended and unaddressed.
Our government provides their need for abusable substances in nefarious ways that they label community outreach, safe havens, clinics, and service centers paid for by uninformed taxpaying Sheeple. Any junky can pick up a methadone fix and necessary supplies by simply asking – then promising to attend the Narconon meetings. You’re not actually an addict or alcoholic if you don’t attend the meetings.
We’d rather enable this behavior than sever the root, dealing with the real issue – Merkan manufactured madness, moral bankruptcy, and spiritual indigence. These disenfranchised, displaced, and discarded people are the unacknowledged signal of coming events – that being, the impending collapse of the republic.
The dispossessed are mere symptoms of deeper problems in the republic because the body politic, like all organisms, rots from within before the decay is evident on the surface. What you see on the streets of Merka are the fruits of the Liberal’s labor to transform this constitutional republic to their Marxist ideology surreptitiously.
The signals were there in our early days when partisan political parties battled to constrain our most precious gift – freedom. They couldn’t govern it, so they deprived us it a fragment at a time, a word here and a phrase there, twisting and contorting the meanings and intent until it mirrored the totalitarian manifesto of the monarchy the original American republic replaced.
Once again, the aristocracy reigns, and we have what they allow, just enough to sell the idea but insufficient to really demonstrate the concept.
The Democrat-Socialists – DemoSocs – learned the republic’s weaknesses and exploited them skillfully to wrest jurisdiction as we stood idly by, lending tacit consent. Our inaction spoke volumes to those intent on ruling the republic. Our liberty was the victim, and we watched and stood cheering as freedom fell. With autonomy abolished, the bureaucrats flourished, invading and multiplying in the republic like a virus.
The procession of carcasses and spoils of the conflict made a fitting spectacle for the incredulous conservative throngs who expected lightning-bolt answers to their heavenly appeals. The Almighty told them centuries before that HE helps those who help themselves. Still, in true Merkan style, we recall the parts that suit our purpose – the He helps… omitting the part requiring action, involvement, and responsibility.
· James 2:14-17 “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
I’m drawn to the phrase “Giving them what they need” in this passage. Does this republic or the needy actually need more stuff, or do we need solutions derived through competent leadership? What they need are solutions, not handouts. Charity is necessary, but enabling behavior by providing the substances and tools that promote it is reprehensible. Providing paraphernalia condones drug abuser behavior, encouraging and enabling addictions.
Legalizing marijuana created a booming industry and flooded emergency facilities with cannabis-induced psychosis, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. It causes permanent IQ loss, anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide. Daily use reduces performance, causes relationship problems, worsens educational outcomes, lowers career achievement, and lowers life satisfaction.
Now, the Sheeple can safely graze… and doze…
Big Pharma has a drug for every mental malady and complaint – especially those they caused but failed to disclose side effects from sloppy profit-driven clinical trials and intentionally suppressing evidence.
Where is the Food and Drug Administration – the federal watchdogs keeping Merka safe from harmful and toxic chemicals (poisons) in our consumables? Aren’t they answerable as the agency monitoring these activities?
Remember, the end justifies the means…
The end, in this case, is profit – $1.5 Trillion.
Who is responsible for these leaders?
Isn’t that us?
Why can’t you see that inaction is the most significant root in this forest of problems?
If we are culpable and answerable for electing the misrepresentatives and the demigods we create, we can most certainly undo and remove them.
As our ’employee,’ they answer to us, not the other way around.
Yet, that’s where Merka stands at this moment.
Our employees are running – ruining – the republic – and we allow it.
As Richard Rowland said, “The inmates are running the asylum,” an allusion to the short story by Edgar Allan Poe, The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether, first published in 1845.
The decisions of the past 75 years have laid waste to our constitution in the name of sovereignty over the republic and the subordination of its citizens – us. We hired megalomaniacs to legislate our affairs. Their laws are not in our best interests but theirs.
We must ask …
· Who gains from these decisions?
· Who pays for these decisions?
· Who goes into government with middle-class wealth and exits a multi-millionaire?
I ask again, WHO benefits from their decisions?
It’s not us, that’s for damn sure!
If you spend more than you earn, do you add another credit line to borrow more or find ways to cut costs to reduce spending?
If you’re a taxpayer, you find ways to reduce spending, but if you’re a politician, you invent ways to bite the hand that feeds you and blame the other party or someone else for the mess you made.
Merka writes bogus checks; deficit spending is a matter of routine.
Here are a few salient and eye-opening figures.
· The national debt is over $45.3 Trillion.
· Our unfunded liabilities exceed $429.3 Trillion.
· Our interest on this debt is $835 Billion annually, projected to exceed $1 Trillion in two years.
· Merka‘s 2023 revenue is $4.8 Trillion.
· Merka‘s 2024 budget is $6.9 Trillion.
· Merka‘s 2024 projected revenue is $5.2 Trillion.
· Merka must forgive student loan debt – $1.63 Trillion to buy China Joey votes.
· Merka pays the UN $12.5 Billion per year for the privilege of being the world’s police force.
· Merka has sent $530 Billion to other countries – through the buy-a-friend program.
· Merka needs to send more than $75 Billion to Ukraine to fight our proxy war with Russia.
· Did you know that the Ukrainian government faces a $43.6 Billion deficit for 2024 – guess who’s coming to dinner – and planning an extended stay?
The rationale for this insane spending is: “The end justifies the means…“
If you’re curious about these ends, ask the Military-Industrial Congressional Complex, but don’t expect a straight answer.
Merka funds these conflicts so the Sheople May Safely Graze.
I recall a slogan from the Vietnam Era… “Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.”
And here we are again… just in different countries.
We haven’t learned a bloody thing!
Big Brother estimates that there are about 16.8 million invaders in America. The actual number is hidden from us, but the best guess is over 25 Million; added to the massive number already here, the number approaches 40 million people living on our generosity. The impact on the deficit is about $16,000 per illegal alien.
Do the math…
Where does this money come from?
Under Big Brother’s Watchful Scrutiny and Expert Supervision, 40 million more She0ple May Safely Graze.
Merka would be a prosperous and productive country if Big Brother’s programs produced the advertised benefits.
Our republic succumbed to Cicero’s fate.
Our misrepresentatives have emasculated and decapitated Merka… figuratively and literally.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.” ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero

~ The Author ~
Charles R. Dickens was born in 1951, is a veteran of the Vietnam war, for which he volunteered, and the great-great grandson of the noted author, whose name he shares.
He is a fiercely proud American, who still believes this is the greatest country on the planet, with which we’ve lost control and certainly our direction. He grew up in moderate financial surrounding; we’re not rich by any stretch, but didn’t go hungry – his incredibly hard working father saw to that. As most from that era, he learned about life from his father, whose story would take too long to tell, other than to say that, he is also a fiercely proud American; a WWII and Korean war, veteran Marine.
Charlie was educated in the parochial system which, demanded that you actually learn something, and have capability to retain it before you advance. He attended several universities in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and chased the goose further to a master’s, and has retained some very definite ideas about education in this country.
In addition, Charlie is a retired blues guitar and vocalist – a musician. This was his therapy career. Nothing brings him as much joy as playing music, and he wishes that he could make a living at it… but alas… life goes on!
