So they show that what Isaiah said about them is true: ‘You people will listen and listen, but you will not understand. You will look and look, but you will not really see. Yes, the minds of these people are now closed. They have ears, but they don’t listen. They have eyes, but they refuse to see. If their minds were not closed, they might see with their eyes; they might hear with their ears; they might understand with their minds. Then they might turn back to me and be healed.’ But God has blessed you. You understand what you see with your eyes. And you understand what you hear with your ears. I can assure you, many prophets and godly people wanted to see what you now see. But they did not see it. And many prophets and godly people wanted to hear what you now hear. But they did not hear it.
“So listen to the meaning of that story about the farmer: “What about the seed that fell by the path? That is like the people who hear the teaching about God’s kingdom but do not understand it. The Evil One comes and takes away what was planted in their hearts. “And what about the seed that fell on rocky ground? That is like the people who hear the teaching and quickly and gladly accept it. But they do not let the teaching go deep into their lives. They keep it only a short time. As soon as trouble or persecution comes because of the teaching they accepted, they give up. “And what about the seed that fell among the thorny weeds? That is like the people who hear the teaching but let worries about this life and love for money stop it from growing. So it does not produce a crop in their lives. “But what about the seed that fell on the good ground? That is like the people who hear the teaching and understand it. They grow and produce a good crop, sometimes 100 times more, sometimes 60 times more, and sometimes 30 times more.”
Then Jesus used another story to teach them. Jesus said, “God’s kingdom is like a man who planted good seed in his field. That night, while everyone was asleep, the man’s enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat and then left. Later, the wheat grew, and heads of grain grew on the plants. But at the same time the weeds also grew. Then the man’s servants came to him and said, ‘You planted good seed in your field. Where did the weeds come from?’ “The man answered, ‘An enemy planted weeds.’ “The servants asked, ‘Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?’ “He answered, ‘No, because when you pull up the weeds, you might also pull up the wheat. Let the weeds and the wheat grow together until the harvest time. At the harvest time I will tell the workers this: First, gather the weeds and tie them together to be burned. Then gather the wheat and bring it to my barn.’”
Then Jesus told the people another story: “God’s kingdom is like a mustard seed that a man plants in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it grows, it is the largest of all garden plants. It becomes a tree big enough for the birds to come and make nests in its branches.”
Then Jesus told them another story: “God’s kingdom is like yeast that a woman mixes into a big bowl of flour to make bread. The yeast makes all the dough rise.” Jesus used stories to tell all these things to the people. He always used stories to teach them. This was to make clear the full meaning of what the prophet said: “I will speak using stories; I will tell things that have been secrets since the world was made.” Then Jesus left the people and went into the house. His followers came to him and said, “Explain to us the meaning of the story about the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The man who planted the good seed in the field is the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seed are the people in God’s kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One. ~ Matthew 13: 14-38
They Have Eyes…
It’s early morning. A few cups of coffee in, I’ve concluded culling the mainstream media mafia’s (3m) sewage for anything of merit. I’m feeling a little dirtier from surfing the sewer and disconcerted that there was only one takeaway – it’s getting worse.
I’m apprehensive about America’s future – the planet’s future – my future. This feeling occurs after a particularly disappointing encounter with the 3m, not to be confused with 3M – the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. I may stop reading the 3m feeds, but then I’m disconnecting from my wellspring of inspiration – decisions, decisions.
“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” ~ C. S. Lewis
3m lacks credibility. They failed several essential lessons from the late twentieth century – honest and unbiased reporting for the viewers, not just for partisan political party support, and sticking to verifiable facts, not conjecture or lies.
This article is my fifth iteration addressing why we face this economic, financial, political, and societal mess. The four prior iterations went through the Bit-Blaster 9000 Digital Shred-O-Matic. I use the upgraded version that Hillary Clinton used on her nonexistent top-secret email servers – that didn’t exist. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge…
I’ve seen and heard descriptions of this American predicament as unprecedented and inconceivable. Phrases like “never before in our history” and “the first time ever” are all too common from the 3m. Like all overused colloquial words and phrases, they’re beaten to the threshold of impotence.
When will we concede that this crisis is self-inflicted? By self-inflicted, I mean that America’s government did it as the citizens watched silently.
We said nothing.
We did nothing.
Guess what, Skooter? This all happened before, about 247 years ago. One side was colonists in home-weave and animal skins, and the other was King George’s Red Coats.
Today’s predicament is an All-American FUBAR!
Does this ring a bell with any of you?
Fortunately, our lexicon is written in pencil to accommodate the dynamics of connotations and denotations. Many words judged too contentious are just erased or removed and never used again. Their intensity and impetus are lost to all but a few Old Fogy’s like me – ’cause I still uses ’em.
My comfort zone is currently in a different place and occasion. Admittedly I’m aging; I know time is not my ally, and like change, it’s transitory and inevitable but tolerable.
I know what I want to say but keep falling into a rabbit hole of rationalizations, explanations, and justifications. I’m trying too hard to be clear and explain the nuance of the situation.
Screw it – I’m going to say what’s on my mind.
Loyal, patriotic Americans are being provoked to sedition. Obama’s DemoSoc party, through Bungles the Clown’s administration, is playing us like a 29-cent kazoo.
I see the past twenty-two years as the epitome of political buffoonery, but there is a reason for the treason.
It’s the acquisition, the accumulation, and the preservation of power.
As John Lyly said: “All’s fair in love and war.”
Since war and politics are collegial, I’ll add politics to the quote.
“All’s fair in Love, War, and Politics.”
So, here we are today, victims of hubris and folly.
It appears that politics and war are self-rationalizing and parasitic partners.
Maybe the best start is just to say what I believe.
The provocative actions of the DemoSoc administration are to foment revolt in loyal Americans.
The DemoSocs intend to incite an insurrection.
Is this concept so foreign or conspiratorial?
Do the facts and events available paint an opposing or conflicting portrait?
Are the actions of the present administration accidental mental lapses or carefully crafted sedition?
Do any of you actually believe that Bungles the Clown has the cognitive capacity for this level of thought?
He shakes hands with air…
Why else would the DemoSocs promise to do anything and everything necessary to prevent a political adversary from ever becoming president again?
They promised this openly.
Their fear propels them to this subversion.
I’d hope they’d be more circumspect and prudent in word and deed, but nope, that’s their objective, and like a Rottweiler after a rib-bone – they want it!
And folks… They’re doing it!
They’ve pulled out all the stops and crossed every ethical line imaginable. They violate our constitution with every step, viewing laws it an inconvenience and beneath their elite stations. And they get away with it because no one says a word!
Their psychotic hatred for everything Trump is their war flag, their standard, their ensign, their obsession. It’s the product of these past 20 months in charge and five years leading up to it.
Hopefully, their Trump Derangement Syndrome will prove to be their downfall, but I’m dubious…
Maybe it’s too late…
Every calculated step, every destructive act, every executive order, every law, and every lie is geared toward the treacherous purpose of preventing a political opponent from seeking and attaining office again.
They have eyes but do not see, ears and cannot hear, tongues that will not speak, and chances went untaken. It is you and I – It’s us that Matthew 13: 14-38 references. We see and hear but sit by quietly. We have ample opportunities to shout from the hills that this doesn’t seem right, but our voices are silent. We could have arrested this cause if we’d engaged before it gained momentum. Maybe it is too late…
The plan’s in motion, and the actors are in place. Protection from the appropriate department is guaranteed. The coup d’état is gaining speed, and soon, the only way to stop will be a revolution – and that’s what the left wants.
Revolt is precisely what the DemoSocs want.
What better way to seize control of America than to create your very own national emergency?
Once the Loyalist Conservatives make their move, the DemoSocs call out the National Guard, with the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, NSA, and 3m working in unison with the US Military in reserve – coup d’état – martial law! – Just like in all the other totalitarian, autocratic, banana republics.
Aristotle observed: “At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.”
When in control of and able to override the legal system, humanity is like a chimpanzee with a machine gun.
Whatever happened to honesty, integrity, and morality?
Did they leave the planet with Elvis?
Are we so distracted by these concocted events we don’t even notice the misdirection and lies?
Did we just buy another bridge?
It appears the DemoSocs personify this psychotic philosophy. They’ve carved America into tribal camps, keeping the factions warring with false statements and accusations.
They control the narrative through 3m! The world will hear carefully crafted misleading news from the colonies as the tide shifts from one side to the other. Collapse is imminent, and victory for the DemoSocs is assured because they will stop at nothing to fulfill their manifest destiny – Unifying these disparate factions under the fatherly but firm control of the State is The New America’s only viable solution for peace and prosperity.
“It is hard to contend against one’s heart’s desire; for whatever it wished to have it buys at the cost of its soul.” ~ Heraclitus
Politics is the profession for which a man will trade his soul.
“Not contentment, but more power; not peace at any price, but war; not virtue, but efficiency (virtue in the Renaissance sense, virtu, virtue free of moral acid).” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
The goal is to instigate the American Loyalists and Conservatives to the breaking point. The point at which men are willing to invest everything they possess, including their lives, for their cause, their ideal of freedom from despotic rule. Will it be too little, too late?
A group of colonists reached this point on April 19th, 1775, following the Declaration of Independence. They’d had their fill of authoritarian rule. They executed their plan.
The next civil war, because that’s what this will be, another civil war, will be like the war of northern aggression between the north and south. Civil War 2024 will be ideological in the same respect. The combatants will wear different clothing, but it will be based on beliefs, nonetheless.
Several factions will initially fight for their splinter-faith, but they will merge into two major dogmas. The Democrat-Socialists – DemoSocs, and the Constitutional Republicans – Conservatives. The actual names are inconsequential – their focus is what’s crucial.
Remove the blinders of denial and look around.
What do you see?
Do you see unity, or do you see political ideologies ripping America apart at its seams?
Do you know the truth?
It seems to change, following or opposing the winds from the swamp.
“If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.” ~ C. S. Lewis

~ The Author ~
Charles R. Dickens was born in 1951, is a veteran of the Vietnam war, for which he volunteered, and the great-great grandson of the noted author, whose name he shares.
He is a fiercely proud American, who still believes this is the greatest country on the planet, with which we’ve lost control and certainly our direction. He grew up in moderate financial surrounding; we’re not rich by any stretch, but didn’t go hungry – his incredibly hard working father saw to that. As most from that era, he learned about life from his father, whose story would take too long to tell, other than to say that, he is also a fiercely proud American; a WWII and Korean war, veteran Marine.
Charlie was educated in the parochial system which, demanded that you actually learn something, and have capability to retain it before you advance. He attended several universities in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and chased the goose further to a master’s, and has retained some very definite ideas about education in this country.
In addition, Charlie is a retired blues guitar and vocalist – a musician. This was his therapy career. Nothing brings him as much joy as playing music, and he wishes that he could make a living at it… but alas… life goes on!
That’s Charlie… a proud, opinionated, and passionate American.
outstanding article.
thank you.
