“Free Speech is probably the most dangerous weapon ever wielded, especially in the hands of those who don’t understand its power.” ~ Author
It’s Sunday morning, September 12th, the day after the twentieth anniversary of our reintroduction to the real world. Many people miss that point. It didn’t stop the self-flagellation; rather than becoming active participants in that reality, we wrench facts to accommodate our narrative.
Yes, this incident was tragic, and yes, the loss of life was atrocious, but it could have been prevented.
Hindsight is 20/20, so they say, which shouldn’t stop us from applying history’s lessons looking forward, or at least to avoid repeating the same irresponsible blunders. We are either that audacious or that stupid.
“If we’d only known,” is our lamentation…
Well, we did know, and we did nothing, and we still do nothing. I mean, we really do nothing to prevent the next reality check. On the contrary, recent decisions by presidential fiat prove that we actually invite conflict to the table.
The tragic events of twenty years ago were preventable. All indications are that the intelligence community, for which we paid over $500 billion since our 2001 reawakening, was fully aware of the impending disaster. Our leader did nothing except spin the aftermath narrative to promote the military-industrial complex, making the fat-cats fatter.
That was the whole point, wasn’t it? Well, that and the opportunity to further erode our privacy.
The intelligence community threw each other under the bus, claiming that no one spoke up or the bureaucracy lost the message. Still, the leadership handled this one just like it did with the Pearl Harbor strike and all the other imminent aggressions. The lack of response stands as evidence that they welcomed these events.
Think about what this implies.
More to the point, we sanctioned this and the subsequent events. I refer to the “Patriot Act” and our continual slide toward Socialism. Did our leaders exploit these events, or was the resulting loss of liberty coincidental?
You can answer that for yourself.
Our government is not as stupid as they think we are. These are some of the most sinister minds around. It’s all part of a master plan – an agenda for a new world order with America in some contorted position in the middle. We, you, and I are a means to that end. We finance their maniacal program to replace our Republic with Socialism dressed in Democracy – The wolf in sheep’s clothing.
This post is not about past deeds or failures; it is about our current path and future.
“Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government’s purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.” ~ Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, Olmstead v. the U.S. (1928)
As you reread the quotation above, consider the media headline using it as a lens and think about what we’re told. Then, think about what this means right now…
Who invented all the problems we face? A quick perusal of the news feeds will provide a complete and appalling list of issues. Yet, except for a scant few natural disasters – all of them are of our making. We even paint natural disasters as human-caused. I refer to ‘Global Warming’ and other pseudo-scientific exploitations like the Wuhan virus.
We, one of us, someone in America, conjured these problems and conceived a way to profit from the chaos they create.
This post is a simple exercise to make you aware of why we’re in these situations. Justice Brandise makes a salient point. It’s much like President Eisenhower’s point about the Military-Industrial Complex. Even though these great men are a generation apart, their messages follow a common theme, as do the statements of great leaders throughout history who tried to warn us.
As Pogo said, “We have met the enemy, and he is us.” Walt Kelley 1970, the statement is no less true today. We are our own worst enemy. This time Free Speech is the weapon of mass destruction.
We’re distracted by the noise from the media maelstrom and their audiovisual onslaught. Truth is nowhere to be found in any of these messages. It’s all part of the distraction – part of the theater to keep us entertained. They capture our attention and hold it fast with fabricated controversy and conflict while nefarious people undertake to reshape our Republic.
“Of course, the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and for exposing the country to greater danger.” Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials.
9-11 and other purported terrorist attacks come to mind.
Is America complicit by intentional inaction under the aegis of ignorance?
You can argue that we’re no longer at war, but our leadership’s approach and solution contravenes that assertion. Our stopgap is to wage war on everything from Americas’ Systemic Racism to Xenophobia and all issues in between. Many of these issues even have Czars appointed to conduct their rigorous campaigns, but we never look at the root causes…
How is our approach to natural climatic variations (global warming) different from our war in the middle east? Both have armies of advocates and dissenters. Both require trillions of dollars to support, demand undying loyalty to the cause, and ex-communicate non-believers as heretics. It’s very close to a religious war, a Jihad.
“Yea, No, I mean” is the beginning of every answer from our government pundits… It seems to indicate that what follows is poorly crafted, not thoroughly thought through. It is probably a partial thought or talking point meant to defuse or deter the question line, but it is not an honest answer.
Another queue is the ‘um’ or ‘err’ or ‘a’ between thoughts and words. This is stumbling over an incomplete opinion being formed in flight. Instead of having the brain in gear before engaging the mouth, these people start talking and wait for their thinking to catch up, which it rarely ever does.
Gesticulation is obfuscation in action. Watch someone trying to bullshit through a presentation and notice the hand movements. They try to draw you into the conversation with distracting activities, like nodding yes to affirm or shake no to dissuade stressing their point, or by waving their hands, beckoning you to engage.
The final sign of absolute bullshit is the giggle or cackle during or at the end of a statement. Again, watch closely for head nods during their comments – do they nod yes or shake no while talking?
Free speech is not a license to say whatever comes to mind, but we equate this constitutional right with verbal diarrhea we experience daily. Anything and everything is fair game under these auspices.
We do our founders and authors of the Constitution enormous discredit by interpreting these concepts so literally. Humanity and society were different in the 1700s. There were moral and social codes that we consciously ignore today as passe` or quaint. We feel so much more superior and more sophisticated than those ruffians and backwoods bumpkins of the 18th century, yet their knowledge and understanding of human nature and history remain unsurpassed.
It took from March of 1785 through January of 1791 to craft and ratified the foundation of our Republic. Unfortunately, the document doesn’t convey the societal background and morality relevant to that period, and so necessary to comprehend its intent.
The predictors and omens of 2001 were hidden in plain sight, just like many other calamities that befall this nation. Our hubris and arrogance obscure these persistent dangers. Our blind faith and trust in government condone and enable these travesties. We vehemently refuse to learn from history even though there is so very much to glean.
The difference is that now we’re too busy fighting internally – arguing about inconsequential topics that split this country into factions along purely manufactured lines: economic, racial, political, vaccinated – unvaccinated, Woke, educational, employed, unemployed, entitled, included, and excluded.
These classifications are imaginary and depend on free speech’s misuse to introduce and sustain them in perpetuity.
Our handlers lie to us; tell us that we belong in one of their carefully crafted cartons cataloged above. We accept every deceitful word that spins out of the mainstream media maelstrom. It’s all interpretations, opinions, perspectives, and all under the pall of free speech.
The burning question is, how much more free speech can we stand? Well, the present administration, the bumbling boobs of bureaucracy, have a tried and true, although totally futile, and ineffectual philosophy called Socialism.
Abraham Tucker said: “Forewarned is Forearmed.”
Now that you know what’s behind all of these lies and manufactured catastrophes, their power over us should dwindle. But, will it, or will we ignore this lesson like all the others?
“When small men begin to cast big shadows, it means that the sun is about to set.” ~ Lin Yutang
We can only hope…

~ The Author ~
Charles R. Dickens was born in 1951, is a veteran of the Vietnam, for which he volunteered, and the great-great grandson of the noted author, whose name he shares.
He is a fiercely proud American, who still believes this is the greatest country on the planet, with which we’ve lost control and certainly our direction. He grew up in moderate financial surrounding; were not rich by any stretch, but didn’t go hungry – his incredibly hard working father saw to that. As most from that era, he learned about life from his father, whose story would take too long to tell, other than to say that, he is also a fiercely proud American; a WWII and Korean war, veteran Marine.
Charlie was educated in the parochial system which, demanded that you actually learn something, and have capability to retain it before you advance. He attended several universities in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and chased the goose further to a master’s, and has retained some very definite ideas about education in this country.
In addition, Charlie is a professional (struggling) blues guitar and vocalist – a musician. This is his therapy career. Nothing brings him as much joy as playing music, and he wishes that he could make a living at it… maybe some day!
That’s Charlie… a proud, opinionated, and passionate American.
