Juntti: Gran Torino or The Rapture

Walt, Gran Torino

Yesterday I commented to a dear sister in Christ that watching all the evil things going on all over the world but especially here in America is much like watching a movie you have already seen – you KNOW the ending, I compared that to the many prophecies in Scripture – how all the major events were repeats of what had taken place before – ‘nothing new under the sun’. Different names and faces but the ‘script’ is the same.

Look at the lawlessness going on across the country right now. Now think of the ‘lawlessness’ that was going on in Lots days (Sodom & Gomorrah) and how God told Lot to take his family and flee as He was going to send Fire & Brimstone to destroy that place.

Think of how the people were in the Days of Noah. How God told Noah to build an ark as He was going to flood the earth and destroy the evil in it.

There are many more instances to prove my point.

Now let me bring up the Rapture (1 Thes. 4:17) and how God has had the prophets of old tell us of how He will deal with the evil going on in this time – He will lift up the Born Again Believers to Himself in the sky and then set loose the seven year Tribulation time period upon those who have failed/refused to ask Christ into their hearts.

This morning as I was waking up and wondering what today will bring – my mind went to the “watching a movie again – knowing how it ends”. That reminded me of one of my favorite movies, GRAN TORINO with Clint Eastwood. The first time I watched it I was SHOCKED at the ending – and I do mean SHOCKED. I never expected the ending that took place. That is what I mean when I say life today is like watching a movie you’ve already seen – you know the ending but still watch it hoping it will end differently but it ends the same way.

That is the point I am trying to make in this commentary – Scripture and the Prophets have told us over and over thru out the Bible of WHAT is coming but so many ignore it, or, thinking they can change the ending. Sorry Charlie – but this is like Gran Torino – the ending will END and each of us have to make THE decision of our eternal life – do we spend eternity in heaven with God and Jesus Christ or do we spend it with Satan and his fallen angels and captives in the Lake of Fire? Will you end up like ‘Walt’ in Gran Torino at the end?

I am sure there are many of you who hit delete on my posts that quote scripture – you ignore what is coming or think it won’t ever happen. Let me remind you of how the people mocked Noah all those years he tried to warn them of the coming destruction and they laughed and went on with their evil living. I remind you how Pharaoh called his magicians to counter the plagues only to finally have to concede that God is greater than Pharaoh’s magicians. I see it much like the many denominational doctrines that preach a gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Read Rev. 22:19 about adding or taking away even one word from His word. If your denomination adds or takes away one word they are guilty of violating God’s word.

Gustave Doré (1832 – 1883)

Give a lot of thought about where YOU will be when Jesus comes back to end the Tribulation with the Battle of Armageddon . Will YOU be one of the Saints returning with Him – or – will you be one of the many who will be here on earth having failed or refused to confess your sin- Repent – and Be Born Again by asking Christ into your heart? It is all up to YOU – your CHOICE – who to spend eternity with. Do you want the Love and Grace of God or do you want the Wrath of God to come upon you? Don’t be like Lot’s wife and look back and be turned into a pillar of salt.

Today is the Day the Lord hath made – Let us rejoice and be glad in it!!!!

Thank-you for speaking truth. Especially when we are surrounded by so many lies. Jesus is the answer! Thank-you for speaking out!

Thank you for your dispatch. Clint Eastwood is an interesting person to say the least. He always seems to want to remedy an injustice…but he can’t live long enough to make a dent in it of any real consequence. But, who can?
