Facebook Is NOT Your Friend

Do you have any idea how many people live on planet Earth? C’mon, give me a ballpark figure if you can. No, well according to World Population Clock, and yes there is such a thing, the world’s population is 7.8 billion people. Okay, here’s another one for you. Do you know how many subscribers there are to Facebook? No, well according to Zephora.com, whoever the hell they are, there are 2.99 billion Facebook subscribers; with 2.36 billion of them using Facebook every day.

Those numbers, while not saying EVERYONE uses Facebook, still show that about 1/3 of all the people on the planet utilize their social network platform. That’s a pretty good chunk of humanity; if you don’t mind me saying so. Did you know that in 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was written, that only about 1/3 of all the people in the Colonies supported independence from Great Britain? Well it’s true; 1/3 supported independence, 1/3 opposed it, and 1/3 didn’t give a shit one way or the other.

That’s pretty significant if you think about it; one third of all the people living in the U.S., (excuse me, for the sake of accuracy, British Colonies), affected such a dramatic change in the status of the people; going from subjects under a tyrant to a country of sovereign freemen and women. Just 1/3 was all it took to support and implement such a drastic change. Keep that thought in your mind for a minute or two.

Don’t get me wrong, I wholeheartedly support the idea of a social gathering platform such as Facebook; bringing people from all over the globe to meet and share ideas; beliefs; and cultures. I can also accept that the creators of such a platform would have certain ‘community standards’ that prohibited verbal attacks, bullying, or outright offensive or disgusting images. The problem arises when they [Facebook] take these protective measures too far and begin deciding for themselves what is, and what isn’t, acceptable speech or content.

I, as well as many of my friends, have had posts blocked or censored for violating Facebook’s community standards. Hell, I’m currently in Facebook jail because of it; with 23 days left on my sentence. When Facebook first blocked my ability to post to my account I went and looked at what they said were the reasons and discovered that on 8 previous occasions I had violated their standards and had my posts removed…all without my knowledge or consent.

I went and checked which posts had been removed, and why, and only found one that was probably justified; using a racial slur against Muslims. The others were for posting things that did not conform to the official narrative coming from the lips of public officials and the news media, and one time where I’d posted something critical of a piece of legislation; with Facebook determining that the facts contained within it were inaccurate. I wonder, did the specific Nazi, sorry, Facebook censor who blocked that post ever read the bill I was questioning? I had, and nothing I said was untrue; it was all based upon the facts contained within the bill itself. So how could some idiot tech junkie sitting at Facebook HQ determine that what I had said was ‘inaccurate?’

What’s truly ironic about the whole thing is, what got me ultimately suspended from my account for 30 days was a sarcastic comment asking if anyone had any good LSD or Magic Mushrooms to help me deal with all the insanity due to the Covid virus. I guess Facebook won’t allow you to post comments about substances that have been deemed ‘illegal’ by your god…oops, I meant your government; same thing for most people however.

Now think about all that for a minute. If you recall I had stated that it took only 1/3 of the people supporting independence from Great Britain to achieve that goal. Now if 1/3 of the world’s population uses Facebook, and if Facebook gets to determine what content those people are allowed to share publicly, then Facebook wields a lot of power over shaping and manipulating the perceptions and beliefs of those people.

What’s truly sad is, if Facebook was SO BLOODY concerned about people sharing false information and outright lies, they would ban the posting of videos of every elected official in the country; for every time they open their lips they are lying to you.

What people, (especially those working for Facebook in their censoring, I mean community standards department), don’t seem to realize is that at one point in time there was this thing in America known as freedom of speech. Now freedom of speech does not mean that you can verbally bully or attack a person, or their reputation; a little common sense and common decency should be enough to prohibit that from happening anyway.

What freedom of speech DOES mean though is the ability to attack things people say with facts that prove that what they are saying is inaccurate, or downright false. A critical thinker, (and there don’t seem to be too many of those around these days), would take both sides of an argument into discussion and formulate their own thoughts on the issue under discussion. Now if YOU, (meaning Facebook or the news media), have the power to decide what facts are shared with the general public, YOU hold a great deal of power over deciding what people will believe and what they will disbelief regardless of its truthfulness.

This whole idea of political correctness frightened me from the get go; as I found it to be disturbingly similar to Orwell’s Thought Police. Who gets to determine what is and what isn’t politically correct speech? Do lawmakers; do those sharing a popularly held belief; or do a bunch of tech geeks sitting in a room at Facebook HQ?

I simply cannot believe how pussified the American people have become. I keep hearing all this nonsense about ‘safe spaces’; where people can go to and be free of controversial or offensive thoughts and comments. Controversy is the spice of life; it’s what makes life interesting. My God, can you imagine how boring life would be if everyone was the same! Controversy is only frightening when you are a pussy who is unable to back up your beliefs and opinions with fact; and that’s the God’s honest truth.

I love controversy. I love a good honest debate; and that’s what they should be, a civil discussion where facts are thrown back and forth; rather than what passes for debating these days – one side expressing an opinion and the other side hurling mud, insults, and attacks upon that person’s character in response. I have actually had people tell me, “There’s no arguing with you Neal, all you do is provide facts to contradict my position.” Well GEE-FUCKING-WHIZ, if facts don’t matter, then those people are right; there is no use in arguing with me; for facts should be the ONLY thing that matters in a debate.

All communication between people, (which the freedom of speech covers), is the exchange of thoughts and ideas, and if you allow some mediator, (Facebook or anyone else), to set limits as to what facts can be exchanged, then that mediator gets to decide which side of an issue the people will support or believe.

This isn’t just about Facebook; I know for a fact that YouTube pulls down videos that its owners believe violate their ‘community standards’ and I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that other social media sights, such as Twitter, do it as well – but I could be wrong about Twitter.

On top of all that you have the news media; with the round the clock news networks and the local news channels, all spewing the same garbage over and over again. I want to share a quote with you, and at the end of this rant I’ll tell you who said it, “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”

Hell, George W. Bush said the same damned thing, with the only difference being he phrased it differently, “See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” (May 24, 2005)

People just do not want to confront the fact that, for most, if not all of their lives, they have been the subjects of a massive psychological manipulation of their thoughts, ideas and beliefs. From the moment they enter the public fool system this period of indoctrination begins, and it continues to be reinforced throughout their lives by the media sources they are bombarded with. The news media tells them what facts to believe, while the TV shows and movies they watch reinforce whatever current social standards those in power want us to believe are ‘normal.’

These people behind this have created a box around your mind, and anyone expressing an idea or belief that is not within the scope of what you have been indoctrinated into believing is to be attacked or opposed. A quick example is this nonsense about voting or not voting. People in general will accept attacks upon one political party by the other; considering that as part of the political process in America. Yet tell people that you do not vote because you do not support the system itself and you have stepped outside of their comfort zone; their indoctrination. They will then resort to the tired old excuse of, “Well if you don’t vote you have no right to complain“, and if that doesn’t work they will say, “But your helping so and so to get elected.” These people are so thoroughly indoctrinated that they are incapable of seeing that no matter who wins an election, government itself continues to march progressively towards absolute despotism.

The whole idea that if you can control what people believe you control the people is so fundamental that I shouldn’t even have to bring it up; yet here we are! If you want absolute control over a people the easiest way to attain it is not through violence or force; it is by altering their perceptions of what is fact; what is true and what isn’t. Again, that sounds frighteningly similar to Orwell’s Ministry of Truth; fabricating new history to conform to whatever policies Big Brother wants to implement.

There is a scene in the film V for Vendetta in which the manager of the British propaganda, oops, I meant news system is asked if the public will believe a news story they are broadcasting. The manager, Dascomb, says something like, “Of course they’ll believe it. We don’t write the news, the government does.”

These people, those who fabricate and dictate what you believe, have become quite effective at their jobs; and quite subtle as well. All they have to do is word something a specific way, then repeat that message over and over, and the people will believe it; swallow the lie hook, line and sinker.

Take for instance all the news coverage of how the Covid virus has caused widespread unemployment and serious damage to our economy…it’s all bullshit! The Covid virus did not cause the current unemployment statistics; it did not cause the fact that numerous U.S. businesses will never reopen, and it did not cause the impending shortages in food that are soon to hit U.S. grocery stores. What CAUSED these things is how government reacted to the virus, and how people obeyed the directives handed out by government.

If people would have told their government to go fuck itself, that they were not going to stay at home and shut down their businesses, we wouldn’t be facing this crisis; which is going to end up being far worse, and causing far more deaths than the virus itself. Unfortunately people did listen, they did obey, and here we are reaping the consequences of our blind obedience to god…oops, I mean government.

You have been conditioned your entire life to live in fear; fear this, fear that, and you have also been conditioned to believe that the only way to ease that fear, to provide you with the illusion of comfort and security is to allow government to take the reins and pass laws; laws that ultimately deny you the very liberty government is supposed to be securing and defending.

It is so bad that it has become a self-perpetuating cycle; people live in fear-they allow government to pass a law to eliminate the cause of their fear-the law government passes causes another problem, which the people become fearful of-government then passes another law to fix that problem, and the cycle goes on and on and on, until one day people are going to ask themselves what happened to freedom and liberty in America.

It’s like what Lenin once said has come to fruition, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” Once you get one generation indoctrinated, they will indoctrinate the generation that follows, and they, in turn will indoctrinate those that follow them…a self-perpetuating system of total indoctrination.

The only threat to this system is the truth, and those rebels and outlaws who have broken free of their indoctrination; they are to be considered the enemy and all efforts must be taken to silence their voices. The sad thing is, I am not your enemy. I don’t want to take anything from you; unless of course it is something that already was mine and that government in all its infinite wisdom has determined that you are more deserving of it than I am.

I just want to be left alone to live my life the way I see fit so long as I do not harm others in their right to do the same. Honestly, is that too much to ask? I know, it was a rhetorical question; for obviously IT IS TOO MUCH TO ASK.

What cracks me up, or does it sadden me, (I’m not sure which), is how people will flock to the movie theaters and buy the dvd’s of movies such as The Matrix, that spell out the extent of their indoctrination…and they are so damned indoctrinated they can’t even see that the movies are TALKING ABOUT THEM!!!

Take for instance the following passage from The Matrix where Morpheus tells Neo, “The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.” All you have to do is remove the word Matrix at the beginning and replace it with government; with the news media; with Facebook and you’ll see that it accurately describes the system of control that is in place over you.

As Morpheus also tells Neo, “I’m trying to free your mind“; that’s all I’m doing. I’m no threat to you, unless you personally try to take something from me that does not belong to you; then all bets are off.

You are trapped in a prison, a prison those who tell you what is true and what isn’t; what news to believe and what not to believe; what facts you shall be permitted to see and which ones you aren’t have fabricated. The key to your prison cell is knowledge, and most people are too lazy or apathetic to bend over and pick it up; to free themselves.

As James Madison wrote to W.T. Barry way back in 1822, “Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.”

If you allow that knowledge to be spoon fed to you by the news media and academics; if you allow your access to it to be limited or restricted by social media sites like Facebook, then you only have yourself to blame for the chains that bind you. The truth will set you free; but the truth is of no avail when no one cares about it anymore; or are too concerned with entertainment, comfort and security than they are the acquisition of truth and knowledge.

Y’all should be ashamed to call yourselves Americans, let alone patriots. Patriots would not submit to the shit you’ve submitted to. Patriots would not drop their drawers, bend over, and allow their government to rape them of the liberty it was supposedly instituted to protect.

Patriots? What patriots? If you’re wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, staying at home, then you’re not a patriot, your an indoctrinated slave; and you make me sick!
